    - Error connecting to .NET Messenger 0x81000301 I just updated 6.0 to 6.1. Have not used the messenger for a while and now I cannot connect. I get the generic message telling me to check for the Internet connection and the code number above. The funny thing is, I was chatting with my brother on version 4.7 within the same session and was able to connect to that version of the Messenger again after 6.0 and 6.1 failed to connect.     - MSN Explorer insists on being the default browser! I prefer to use IE for pretty much all of my browsing. When I go to my Hotmail by clicking on "My E-Mail Inbox" on the pop-up menu on MSN Messenger, my computer uses MSN Explorer instead. Even though I have the checkbox next to "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" checked, it does not bring up a dialog box asking if I want to make it the default when I manually open IE.     - Audio Breaking Up In One Direction I am a new user of MSN Messenger and have managed to establish an audio connection with a friend. The problem is that while my audio sounds OK to him, his audio keeps cutting in and out on my computer. Both microphones seem OK when tested on their own computers.     - WebCam help req'd ... Hello, I recently purchased a Fuji FinePix 2650 digital camera in the hope that it would funtion as both a camera and a web cam. Unfortunately, the latter isn't happening! Windows has no problem in detecting that i have a camera, however it detects it as a storage medie (i now get a g:\ drive) when in PC USB mode. To use as a webcam, i'm told to put in PC USB mode. Again it is detected but when opening MSN Messenger 6.1 it does not recognise my cam. It says "you cannot change your cam settings ... because cam is not plugged in or is being used in vid conversation with another program". I have no other applications open, please could you advise a solution. "There are two video features in MSN Messenger 6 (under Windows XP), the 'Webcam' feature, which is a logitech-made component that primary will only work with actual webcams (that is, USB-based, single-function webcams) and the 'Video Conference' feature, which will work with a multitude of devices (DV cameras, video card inputs, etc.). In order to use your DV camera, you'll first need to go through the Audio/Video Tuning Wizard in MSN Messenger 6.1 by clicking the Tools menu, then Audio/Video Tuning Wizard, then opening a conversation window and choosing the Actions menu, then 'Start Video Conference'.     - One way videoconference I'm able to videoconference in only one direction. User A can see himself and send video and audio to User B, but nothing is received.     - Incorrect display of mobile capabilities in MSN 6.1 Greetings. I run MSN Messenger 6.1.0203 on Windows XP Pro 5.1.2600 SP1a and have been experiencing problems with the way Messenger displays to others the ability of my account to forward text messages on a mobile phone when I'm offline. Contacts sometimes have this option (when my offline avatar shows a little black handset) and then, at other times, it's unavailable (my offline avatar simply shows that I'm offline). The opposite is also true. Contacts that I know have enabled the option to allow others to send text messages on their mobile device will randomly display this ability. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? Is this a client or servers-side problem? I'm an MSN subscriber and have attempted to contact Microsoft Network about this, but to no avail (I hope someone from MSN reads this - their customer service has not been impressive lately - my four online service requests have remained unanswered).     - No audio with Messenger 6.1 Hi everybody, I run Windows XP Home Edition, with PC-Cillin for firewall. Like everybody, everything was working fine until I updated to v.6.1... since then, no audio. Basically, Messenger does not manage to connecte to the other PC. What's very frustrating is that I had many friends and family install v.6.1 recently, and it worked fine for everybody BUT me!!! Very frustrating I must admit! Yesterday, I spent some time reading this Newsgroup, and here is what I tried so far: - unchecking the Qos Packet Scheduler (actually, I had to uninstall it on my PC; the box was grayed out and I could not uncheck it). - I switched the UPnP and the SSDP to Automatic - I also tried to open all ports from 5004 to 65535 (eventhough some of those are used by Trojan...) - I turned off the Windows ICF Well, I do not know what to do anymore...     - Messenger loses pictures Hi, MSN Messenger is not keeping the "Display Picture" when we change it from the default to a custom icon.     - Annoying 4.6 Please, someone help me and salvage my sanity. After umpteen dozen removals of windows messenger, it still reloads itself on my system.     - Cant Use My Camera in 6.1 Can in Windows Messenger 5.0 I'd like to be able to use my Sonly Video (MiniDV 120BT) camera for a Web Cam. Also vice versa.     - Webcam Problems Whenever I try to open my webcam in Messenger, it says my digital camcorder is already in use, and cancels the startup of webcam. I am not using it for any other programs, why is it telling me this, and how can i prevent it?     - Sign in and Inbox Problem I just upgraded from 4.x to 5.0 Windows Messenger but even before that this has been a problem. WM will not login automaticly. When I initiate the sign in process it says my password is incorrect or my account dosent exist. I press Retry, put in my password and still no go. The only way it signs in is if I select 'sign in as', leave the email address as is (my .net account) and enter my password. This has been the only way. Every time I sign in to Messenger it asks me to verify my
email address. If I ever did have the passport email it
refers to I must have deleted it and can't find anyway of
getting Microsoft to re-send it. Any ideas?
