Since upgrading to the latest version of MSN messenger I find myself unable
to gain access to that facility when at home. When go to my friend's place I
have no problem at all using Messenger and chat.
Does anyone have an answer for this problem please???

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

At home check your firewall's settings and ensure that nothing is being
blocked. Can you, while at home, still log on via Windows Messenger perhaps?
If so then go ahead and check our firewall logs. If they show that's what is
blocking it then configure your firewall to more accurately suit your needs.

Greetings,

What's happening when you try? If the two Messenger contact icons are just spinning and
never signing you on, this is due a misconfiguration last week which caused an invalid
setting to be put into the registry.

It's easily removable however. Just shut down Messenger entirely by right-clicking on its
icon in the notification area and choosing Exit, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/remove_wlmpolicies.reg

Then try signing in again.
