Hello:

I have used MSN Messenger with no probs for a long time. Now, when I trt to
sign in, MSN freezes (as in "program not responding" in the Task
Manager...). I have also installed the 7.0 version.

I've reinstalled maybe five times.

The program starts fine - it's only after "sign in" that the lock up occurs.

I'm on Windows XP Home Edition and everything else seems to run fine.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Help?

Thanks all

Greetings,

You might try rebuilding your client cache. To do so, click Start, then Run, then type:
%appdata%\microsoft
and click OK.

Right-click the MSN Messenger folder and choose Delete. After all this, restart Messenger
and see if the problem has been corrected.

If that doesn't work, do you have a router of some kind?

Did what you said. No change. I have a Linksys router. Also, wireless. Thank
you so much for your efforts.
