MSN Messenger connection issues

Since yesterday, I have had troubles logging in with MSN
Messenger. I am able to log in and I get my contacts list,
but it shows everyone (when I'm sure that they are online)
as offline. At the same time, my other applications that
are connected to the internet just disconnect. Once I exit
MSN Messenger (although it may just sign-off by itself),
all my other programs run fine. What's going on? I've tried
reinstalling, but it has not helped.
