Messenger 6.1 caused XP instability

Last Sunday I downloaded and installed Messenger 6.1 on my XP-Pro
(SP1a) pc and since then many programs (ACAD 2002, Adobe Illustrator
10, XP explorer) are unstable; after using them for a few minutes a
random action causes the program to suddenly shut down.
Can anybody help me out in this MessengerMess? I'm trying to graduate
but in this way I'd better look for a different day occupation...

Sounds weird. I'd uninstall msn messenger and see if that helps. Not much
you can do with windows in the way of troubleshooting it.
