Greetings Brittany,
Messenger uses WinInet (a major component of Internet Explorer) to establish a connection to
the .NET Messenger. Even though your default browser is set to FireFox, Messenger will still
use Internet Explorer.
As such, start Internet Explorer, click the File menu, then click Work Offline.
