You know. After using AIM, YIM and now Google Talk. MSN is officially the
worse. Not only is there a complete lack of support, heck even AOL does
better than this, its buggy and a clean install doesn't even fix the problem.

Not going to be using this POC again.

But there is so much more in MSN Messenger. I can find out very easy if the
IM network is down, which is not very easy to do with AIM

What good does that do if the program itself does not work. If there is no
technical support beyond a handful of FAQs and common problems available?

You contact AIM support, you actually get support, same for YIM. I have had
to do it on a few occasions, and if all else fails, you can reinstall these
programs and 98% of the time get it fixed. MSN is so deeply integrated into
the OS it won't do a clean install without messing around with things most
casual users shouldn't be messing with and it shouldn't be necessary to do it
in the first place.

MSN offers no support. I would choose a program with less features that
works and offers real support over one that has more but has no support over
any day. I know two people on this crappy IM system. They'll just have to use
the phone from now on because MSN is crap and I don't need nor want it.

Oh and By the way, you can keep old versions of AIM on your system. They
don't force you to upgrade to connect.

HAHAHA AIM SUPPORT you have got to be kidding me they are useless. Have
email several times, and their answer is, the problem is with your computer
reinstall windows. And AIM is the program that was not connecting to the
service. I waited a few days and AIM came back online. IMagine if I
reinstall the WHOLE OS. I WOULD HAVE LOST EVERYTHING.

Well since your computer has no problems, I guess that means mine should be
fine, despite the fact we probably do not have the same mouse let alone the
same hardware issues. I've used AIM since its creation and I have never
encountered a problem I couldn't fix myself or get help from them about...
never had to reinstall for AIM and I won't do it for MSN messenger either.

I tried posting my problem on this group, there was no real response. This
is not a cookie cutter problem. WHich is probably why I can't get any real
response because it requires more than copying and pasting the answer. I've
tried using MSN Support form... they got to posting a third FAQ solution,
which I did try by the way, and stopped.

since when did MSN force you to upgrade from 7.0 to 7.5 to connect ?? a
new version with new features was offered and you chose to upgrade. there
was no forcing ! personally I am thrilled that a developer often new and
upgraded versions of a program especially when free.

You know what they say about assuming don't you? I was referring to 6.2,
which by the way, I could use with no problems. This one, won't work and they
do FORCE you to upgrade. AIm, doesn't. YIM, doesn't.
