In an earlier posted message, Winston mentioned that SPI Mode with D-Link
Routers was found to be creating problems with MSN hanging after log on.
Some users had voice concerns about how this might be resolved for those of
us with Linksys routers. In an attempt to determine what course of action
could best resolve this issue, I stumbled upon the following. This method
has yet to be verified, but after having done this, my current machine no
longer hangs. I have 4 other computers to try this on, on my network.
Enter your routers setup screen. From there, click the advanced tab. Scroll
down until you see "Block WAN Request". Disable it and apply the settings.
Log onto MSN Messenger 7.0, go back into your router configuration and
re-enable "Block WAN request", and apply. As I mentioned, this method has
yet to be verified. If you have a linksys router, and this works for you,
please reply.
Thank you,
Daniel
