I have MSN messenger 7.5 with a Windows XP service Pack 2
Everytime I try to install the new version of Messenger it says "the old
version of Windows Live cannot be removed".

So the new version doesn't install. Also I tried to remove MSN Messenger 7.5
from Add or Remove Programs but when I try to remove MSN it says "the patch
package does not exist. Verify the patch package exists and then try again"

Can you help me. I need to install the new version because I can't log on to
MEssenger until I install the new one.

Try removing the old version with add/remove programs in control panel.
