Please not that this post is related to, but *not* the same as, "Bug: Message
History not saved until IM window closed."

In cases where my computer does not hang and no application is crashed, I
sometimes lose MSN messenger message history data (the data is not saved).
Examples:
-Shutting down my PC while MSN Messenger is running may cause history data
not to be saved. I did not end task or force quit messenger
-MSN Messenger fails to save multiple concurrent conversations with the same
person. For example, if I am in a conversation with A, B, and C, and I start
another conversation with A, the second conversation with A will not appear
in the message history.
These are just examples that I have noticed in passing; I leave it to
microsoft to detemine specific test cases. I use MSN Messenger to communicate
with co-workers for assignments. It's not critical that the conversations be
recorded, but it is a significant inconvenience when the history feature
fails to preserve a particular conversation, for whatever reason, that I
wanted to view.
Steve's bugfix reported in the other thread that I mentioned above, if
solved, could help alleviate some of these issues. I put in a vote for that
issue, also.
Thanks and HTH
