    - Error 1635 Jonathan Please Help I posted this Question recently and still cant get an answer to the real problem. When I try to uninstall MSN 7.5 from Add Remove, I get This Patch Cannot be Removed etc. When I try to overwrite it I get Error 1635 box come up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled MSN many times before with no problems, this problem seems to have appeared since I was recently Flagged to update to a new build although I already had Build 0311?     - Messenger 7.5 Cannot log in - please help Dear all, Any help is welcome. I have a PC with Win XP Pro x64 OS (64 bit) and MSN 7.5. After the latest Windows updates I no longer can log into MSN 7.5. Before that - no problem. Typing the user info and password the actual display of the login is veeerryyy slooooww. My bandwidth is 1 Mb. I use Avast anti virus and Windows firewall. OS, Office 2003 and IE 6.x have all been updated to the latest versions using Windows Update.     - Messenger Freezes I am getting quite frustrated with MSN messenger on my computer freezing as soon as I start it. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, making sure I got rid of windows messenger, looking at my firewall and antivirus setting, but it keeps freezing. It will do it for a random period of time, ie. 3 weeks, then will suddenly work again. I have no problem using other IM programs, but really want to get back to using MSN. My computer doesnt freeze, just the program itself until I have to ALT-CTRL-DEL to end it. I tried the newest version and still does the same, anyone with suggestions.     - Get data in MSNOBJ? Dear group, I am trying to create a simple MSN client. Since MSNP6 the MSN protocol makes use of msnobj's which contain for example other users tiles. My question is where to get the contents of these files? I get the data like this; <msnobj Creator="..." .... Location="TRF50.dat" ....> and I also know that once I have this file I can simply rename it from .dat to .jpg or .png in order to view it, but I don't know where to get this file from in the first place.     - can't type double o's in beta messenger It would appear that when I type oo's in the beta messenger, it's double something else and I don't know how to disable it. This didn't happen in version 7.5. Does anyone know where I can disable this function. There was a time ... and I only had it activated for about 5 minutes, where ... if I typed two o's together, it would give two animated eyes. But I ditched that probably a year ago.     - Slow sign in... Hi, I have recently rebuilt my machine from scratch after a hardware fail, but now experience intermittent slow sign in to MSN messenger (7.5.0322). It just freezes for up to a minute. It always occurs the first time I log in, but most of the time if I disconnect and reconnect it connects straight away!     - Profile viewing Whenever I try to view someone's profile now a a page loads that says MSN profile, and displays a small icon of a shilohet of a person and their display name, and a link that says subscribe to this live contact.     - My webcam refuses to open in a video conference (even with settings OK) Hello,when trying to have a video conversation my webcam will not open,but my contact's webcam shows no problem,then I do the Audio and Video wizard,and it shows that my webcam is available and working,but if ,in the menu,I open my Webcam Settings ,it says: "You can not change your camera settings because either,your camera is not plugged in your computer,or you are using it in a video conversation or another program" ,and every setting is greyed out. So,every time that I have a video conversation,it is a one way video (that of my contact),as soon as I try to open mine,it cuts of the video conference.     - Display name question I recently noticed that an old chat buddy's display name had changed from her name to her email address. Prior to this, she hadn't appeared online for nearly two months--very unusual for her. (And no, I don't think I was blocked, as I never initiate conversations--I leave that to her.)     - Webcam locked I'm having a Creative Notebook webcam that is always locked by MSN 7.5 after first use. By locked i mean it cannot be used in any programs (including MSN itself) after first time of usage. Restarting MSN does release the lock. I have verified that that webcam works fine in other programs and that webcam driver is the latest. Also MSN 7.5 should be the latest build 322.     - Start Up Ive been expierencing a minor problem upon start up with messenger recently. Messenger automatically starts and if I have a message it does indicate that this is email. However, when I click on that indication, I get a message saying the service is unavailable and then shutdowns. A minute or two later, it signs itself back in again and tells me its available.     - hyperlinks what are the chances of adding hyperlinks to messenger names/personal messages. i get sick of either having to type in a link someone has suggested, or initiating a conversation with them just to be able to copy/paste the site in. Is there a reference site (either Microsoft, or 3rd party) which has the complete details/specifications for how to do this? Some things I've run into: 1) It's not clear whether the maximum size is 50x50 or 100x100 2) Sometimes the frame delay set in the animated GIF is respected, and sometimes it played much faster 3) Even though the entire emoticon size is well within the file size limit (150K), sometimes only the first two frames appear (unpredictably) 4) How to bundle together a whole bunch of emoticons with preset shortcuts, so they can be installed in one go (as opposed to the user having to set each one by themselves) Replies much appreciated.     - MSN Messenger 7.5 problem and one possible solution Just in case this has not been discussed earlier: For a long time I had the same MSN Messenger 7.5 problem which many have described here. Followed every instruction: nothing worked, just the number if the error changed once (81000XXX... something). Finally I found the solution: my firewall blocked the connection. So what? Check your firewall settings is one of the first instructions given? But the ZoneAlarm had for some obscure reason went to hidden mode. It didnt show at all in lower right corner taskbar. So each time my programs were updated, they stopped accessing internet. So try this: go to program files, see if you have Zone Labs folder. You ay have forgot it... if so, open Zone Labs -> Zone alarm and double-click zonealarm.exe. Then try some program which has recently stopped working, like my MSN Messenger did as I updated it. Zone Alarm should now ask whether it gives the updated program an access to internet. Click yes, and if it works, you´re done. Your problem has been the same as mine: in hidden mode Zone Alarm does not ask for your permission to let a modified program to acces internet. I still haven't found the way to make Zone Alarm visible in taskbar. I have to make it visible manually each time clicking it in its folder.     - Msn/spaces help me please!!!!!!! Oh i do hope somebody can help me, I am only a beginner at all this but my problem is not being able to upload photos to my space. I am running windows xp, i have Internet explorer 6, my connection is dial-up. I have Msn mesenger 7.5 whether that mkes any difference i am not sure, i also have nortons antivirus 2006 installed, What is happening is i click on add photos and absolutely nothing happens.     - Msn/spaces/cannot upload photos Please can anybody help, i have been trying to upload photos in my space, as soon as i click add photos nothing happens, i believe i need the activeX control to download the photo upload tool, but the yellow bar doesn't appear on my browser window so i can start the activeX.     - blocking and deleting contacts My question is regarding what happens when user A blocks and then deletes user B from their contact list. Obviously, the users can't communicate with each other, and user B cannot see user A's status, even after being deleted from A's list. But if user B goes into his privacy settings and views the list of people who have added him to their list, will user A be gone from the list, since user A deleted user B, or will his state as it appears to user B be totally frozen, and thus it still appear to user A that he is on user B's list? There is a Windows Live Messenger newsgroup for requestion invitations, and
for general support. You may want to check there for invites. I would send
you one, but I'm currently out.
