    - Hotmail Question I could not find a proper location to post this question, so I am posting it here because it appears to be the closest to what I need to ask. My dad just got a MSN hotmail account; however, he had the spam block on and most of his e-mails went to the junk box which deleted all his messages today.     - msn 6.2 install, error:RTCRES.dll hello, i had problems with msn messenger, and i had tried to instal msn messenger 6.2 again, but id doesnt work. I have looked on the internet for solutions but they don'twork.     - MSN limit the contact list number Recently I discover that MSN Messenger got one limitation that I think was a bad idea. It limit the number of contact list.     - Crashing with MSN Messanger 6.2 Hey, I dont know what happened, seems that nothing new has been added to the system or removed, but for some reason my Messanger goes not responsive every time it signs in. On Start up if I dont have my Internet Cable plugged in, its fine, but as soon as I connect, it goes non responsive. I have no idea what happened. I have already uninstalled the program, and reinstalled, but the new install also crashes.     - Mic dies after a few seconds I am using the latest MSN - 6.2. I have uninstalled + reinstalled a couple of times. I am running XP Pro-SP2. I have the latest audio drivers for my on board sound. The audio device is listed as "C-Media AC97 Audio Device." I am behind a SOHO firewall. I have not opened any ports on it, as my problem did not exist previously with the same firewall configuration. The Problem - I start an audio conversation, and after about 2 seconds my mic stops working. I can still hear the person I am connected to when they speak. For the first 2 seconds I can see that the mic input slider is responding to my speech into the mic. After two seconds, the mic slider gets pinned to the top or sometimes to the bottom and then no longer responds as I speak (and the person I am connected to doesn't hear me). This has started happening 100% of the time. When it does happen Messenger continues to work, but as soon as the person I am connected to stops the audio conversation Messenger freezes completely (I can't even kill it in task manager). I am able to run through the tuning wizzard fine. I am able to use my mic for any other application - even right after Messenger freezes. I have had the mic working perfectly with the same hardware setup. All of a sudden this started happening. I guess I have had various software changes (no driver changes).     - Video blocked from Dlink DI-614+ router When I start do video conference, the other side is unabled to see me as blocked out. As I'm fixing the friend's router as I only know how to operate it cos I'm only one understanding english, but 1st time to see the Dlink wireless router, so what are the steps to open the video conference to internet? As there are 3 PC with webcams on each PC, as the only communication is video as all family are deaf.     - New Feature Request A new feature that I would LOVE to see would be that display pictures (your own and others) would stay hidden when you opened new windows. Now, if you or the other person had changed a picture since you last had the window it would open so you could need a new picture. And.. if you won't do this... at least add the option to have your own start out minimized by default... if we set our own picture we don't really need to see it everytime we open a conversation.     - Hung up in Beta 7.0 update Hi! This may have been asked before but I checked through a number of pages and could not find it. Anyway here goes. I downloaded the beta 7.0 version of MSN and was using it and liking it. However at some point it said "There is an update and you MUST download it to be able to use MSN" So I downloaded it. It turned out to be the 6.2 version so sure enough, during installation I got the error saying "Oh dearie you have a newer version of MSN installed on your system I cannot possibly install this version" The result being that I am hung up in the updating process: beta 7.0 will not let me use it without using the update and the update will not run because it's an older version..... I sent this to CS to which I got an automated reply after a week (instead of the promised 24 hours) with self help information aimed at solving Windows SP2 related problems.... at any rate useless to solve my problem.     - web cam in messenger Around two years ago we purchased a CREATIVE VIDEO BLASTER WEBCAM for use on a windows 98 PC for use on msn netmeeting for links from england to australia, and except for some trouble connecting, the web cam did send video piccy's ok. To attempt to improve the success with trouble free connection, (it is my mothers machine, she is 73 and uses it mainly to net meet with her daugher (my sister) in australia) we have purchased a new dell 'puter with windows XP installed. - my brother in law suggested that the windows 98 and there XP in australia might not be helping - I'm not sure this would be the case. We have plugged in the creative web cam and loaded the software and the web cam works okay and records video's and stills into the album okay - we can see the web cam image in the video screen that appears on the monitor. When we run audio/video testing in net meeting the web cam works okay and any other test the I have run checks out okay and comfirms that every thing is okay with the web cam However, when we connected with aus' we could send audio okay and could see thieir video AND OUR IMAGE ON OUR SCREEN HERE IN ENGLAND but they could not see our video on their screen in aus'.     - Recommendation for new feature I would like to suggest that you allow us to change our status by clicking the status message that is in the message window (showing you are away, etc. when you go to send a new message). Make it work like you have done in Service Pack 2 with the pop up blocker "allow this site; temporarily, always, etc.".     - No Audio with MSN Messenger 6.2 Hi All: I've read through the posts here and I'm running out of ideas. I have Windows XP SP2 installed, all the updates, a Logitech Orbit, separate microphone, and I'm trying to set up the ability to have video calls. The video works fine, but I can not get the audio to work - either me sending audio or receiving audio through the speakers.     - Auto-Login? My messenger doesn't seem to recognize that I'm online (6.2). It just sits with the X over the icon. I have to manually connect.     - Firewall Query? I am experiencing poor transfer rate with some people on my contact list, and we are trying to determine whether the problem is at my end or theirs. All are running a broadband/high speed connection. With some transfer is fine but with others it starts off ok then reduces to a snails pace.     - Error 0x81000365 - Can't login Hi. I'm using MSN Messenger 6.2 (Norwegian version) with Windows XP SP2. I'm using NATP trough my DSL modem (Speedtouch), and it works perfectly. Also using the UPnP protocol that is supported in my DSL modem. MSN Messenger works fine all the time except after my DSL modem is being reconfigured by my ISP. When my modem is back online (2 mins after i get disconnected, with a new external ip), i get this error message when trying to connect MSN Messenger again. I've tried restarting MSN Messenger with no luck. Also checked settings configurations suggested in other posts. My IE settings is: Connect trough LAN. No proxy, SSL 2 & 3 is checked. Server certificate is off. All other internett applications works fine after the reconfigureing of my DSL modem is done, including IE. My only solution to this is a reboot.
