I live in Michigan and am trying to help my inlaws in Florida by using remote
assistance. We have done it before and it worked wonderful. They have got a
new pc and have downloaded the new msn messenger but when they ask me for
remote assistance and I accept, there is a long delay and then I get the
following message:

Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the remote
host name could not be resolved. Please try again.

I have no idea what this means but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Are your inlaws sitting behind a firewall or have a router?
Ask them for their IP address (open a command prompt and type ipconfig /all)
and see if you can ping their IP Address.
If you can't ping their IP address then that could be the cause.
The other cause could be if they've loading Zone Alarm or some other
firewall and it's automatically blocking the requests.

I still cannot get it to work. I try and get into their computer and even
when they try and get into mine, the following statement always comes up:

Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the remote
host name could not be resolved. Please try again.

Is there someone they could call throught microsoft, that knows more than I
do, that could help them get this working? Thanks in advance
