    - Future of MSN Messenger for Pocket PC? Does anyone out there know if there is going to be a new generation of MSN messnger that is going to support audio, perhaps even video messaging for Pocket PC? What I would really like is if you could interface your Bluetooth enabled Camera phone, since most people have one already. Right now I don't think that there is any option to do that... anyone know different. As for the rest of it, we can wait and hope.     - Messenger 7.5 bug Just upgraded to MSN Messenger 7.5 and found a couple bugs, one of them critical. 1. When messenger is running and I click to add voice it works, however it also takes over the volume control for any other running app. In fact if you start the volume control you can see the sliders moving together. 2. If messenger is running at all, I can not play a DVD in Windows Media Player or by using the MSWebDVD control. Did anyone test this release???     - MSN can not sign in due to firewall Hi there, all the sudden, I can not sign in my MSN any more, the error message I got was due to the firewall setting. I haven't changed anything with my computer, the windows firewall is on all the time and MSN used to be ok. I have McAfee on my computer, but it's the basic version with only antivirus functionality, no firewall function of McAfee was enabled. The only thing I can think of is that the computer checks and installs windows update automatically, and that happened the other night when I shut down my computer. so what's going on here? Actually, I disabled my windows firewall and re-started my computer and still had no luck with MSN, surfing the web is still ok. If I want to uninstall the last windows update, how can I do it?     - Default color Is there a way I can change the default window color for all messenger windows? And keep them that color? The only place I see where I can do this is in an instance of a messenger window (while chatting with another user) by clicking the little paint brush button. When I make the change there, I see the window color change. But when I'm start chatting with another person in another window (or even if I start chatting later with the same person on whose window I changed the color originally), the color reverts to what it was previously.     - Messanger Logs hi there, so I understand about the messanger log option that I uncheck - it's unchecked. Is there any other place that Messanger keeps track of your messanger convo logs? Or is there any built in thing in your computer like a logger or something that could show these messages? My convo's have been compromised and I know the option is unchecked so i'm unsure how.     - PLEASE help me with Messenger My messenger worked fine for the longest. Then I changed internet providers to MSN through Qwest. When I downloaded the MSN software so I could hook up to the internet, my messenger got so messed up. I've done all I know to do...uninstalled, reinstalled, etc with no luck. I have no tabs on the left side or the top. Everything at the top of the messenger is jumbled and overlapping. My icons and emoticons are black squares. I can't install a picture...it shows up as black and white with lines through it. It's a mess. It's frustrating. I don't know what else to do to fix these problems.     - Regular disconnections Hi, We have been using MSN Messenger in our company for the last four years, and as you may imagine, we have grown accustomed to it's ease of use and it's tremendous usefullness. Our network is essentially composed of Windows NT, W2K and recently W2K3 servers. Our DELL Optiplex workstations run on WXP sp2 and are equipped with at least 512 MB RAM. Our firewall/proxy is an ISA Server 2000. Workstations are configured to allow Windows Update to go about it's business unhindered. Since version 3.11 of MSN MEssenger, many of us are experiencing random disconnections. Messenger will disconnect (the task bar icon will display the red cross) and then reconnect after the standard delay. Often on receiving a message, we type a response, and on hitting send we get disconnected. Version 3.22 brought no improvement, and neither did version 3.24 I have, on troubled workstations, reset the IP stack using WinSockXPFix, reregistered the recommended DLLs, and even deleted the %appdata%\Microsoft\MSN Messenger directory. We have searched the logs generated by ISA Server for errors. Outgoing user traffic flows freely through the ISA firewall. Any help would be greatly welcomed.     - Slow File Transfer with MSN 7.5 I am using Linksys WRT54G (version 5) router and have port forwarded ports 6891 - 6901 (using "both" TCP and UDP). But for some reason, I am still getting very slow transfer on my own network when trying to transfer files between two MSN 7.5 accounts. Meaning that if I try to send from my wireless laptop to my main machine or vice versa (both using the same router described above), I am getting very, very slow transfer speeds. Sme with "outside" transfers. I am using the very latest firmware on the WRT54G. My UPnP is DISABLED.     - MSN and my blackberry A while ago, I let someone use my blackberry to check her hotmail. Immediately following, this person's MSN account starting showing the yellow "mobile device" setting whevever she was offline. Then, some of her friend starting sending message to her, and they are appearing on my mobile device. As I test, we created a new MSN account and added her MSN name to the buddy list. Sure enough, there was her name with "mobile" in place. We tried logging onto a computer under her profile but could not find a place where this mobile device is set up.     - Slow Outlook Express My son installed MSN Messenger 7.5, and it seems to have affected OE. So I used a restore point to fix the problem, it worked perfectly. However, did this late at night, and my son promptly re-installed Messenger the next day before I could tell him not to! So I went use a restore point again to correct the situation, only to find all my restore points had vanished. So now OE opens very slowly, and sometimes it crashes. Hi my pc crashed, and i msn messnger wasn't working and i couldn't remove it.
So I went and searched for a way to remove it, so i could re-install it i
found the following article : -

which advised me to run this command line -

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

I also ran windows install clean up

Now i re-installed 4.7 from the XP CD and its not working, if i install 7.5
that doesn't work, also the msn update site now doesn't work, and i can't
download updates for msn defender either

Greetings Chris,

You can regrab 4.7 from WindowsUpdate (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) but you'll need to
elaborate on each condition on what exactly is happening. It "doesn't work" doesn't help us
much.
