    - Beta bugs I get an error about message logging whenever I close a particularly long conversation (more than 5 or 6 things said) conversation. When I download a background, it doesn't change. When I try to get to my email, there's a 50/50 chance of it opening IE. The rest of the time, it opens Outlook Express, which doesn't even work with hotmail, as fart as I know...     - Won't download or install I've been trying to either install from the web or download the MSN Messeneger 7 beta for days but I've not been successful. Keep getting a message that the page is not available when I try to download and a Red X when I try to install from the web. Version 6.2.0137 is running just fine. Went here http://www.mess.be/ and tried the download locations that they had listed and they did not work either. Was able to install it on my other system - has Windows ME.     - MSN 7.0 via HTTP Proxy? Is this a feature? Is this possible? I'm connecting through a corporate LAN which is pretty much locked down as far as ports go. However, they use http proxy.     - Block MSN Messenger Through A Firewall Hello, I am trying to find out how to prevent users from connecting to Microsoft's messaging service through a PIX firewall. I am already blocking most ports but am concerned that users might still be connecting through HTTP. We use Messenger corporately and connect it to our Exchange server, so uninstalling it and/or blocking it through Group Policies won't do us any good. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried opening it with several editors but i get all the headers and code that messenger needs for colors, letter type and stuff, and at the end the actual msg.     - Finding an IP address for a computer Hello, My friend and I would like to play some multiplayer games over the internet, but we just cannot find the IP address for his computer. He has Windows XP (in Spanish). We have tried looking for the IP address in various places (including the software usually located in the "Windows" folder on English systems).     - MSN Messenger not connecting using AOL! I am unable to log into MSN messenger, I get the usual 'messenger is unable to connect with error 0x81000301' message. I have just setup a new network using a Linksys BEFDSR41W modem/router using AOL broadband ISP updated with the firmware update from 12/12/03. The connection is fine, I can browse the internet, but here's the strange thing, and I would say almost certainly linked to the problem, I cannot access www.microsoft.com, or www.msn.co.uk, windows support or hotmail, basically any website linked to Microsoft, but strangely I can get to windows update and http://webmessenger.msn.com/ but cannot launch the pop-up window, have pop up blocker turned off, but clicking the launch window button does nothing. I was forced into using AOL for the ISP, if it was up to me I wouldn't be, but I was told that I would be able to share the connection over the network and I could still use IE and not their own browser software. But here is another clue to the problem, on another PC which is connecting to the internet using the AOL software connecting through the network, you can access www.microsoft.com, but if you open Internet Explorer and try and access it, it doesn't find it, and I imagine that msn messenger will also fail to connect, so basically its fine using AOL's browser but not using IE. So why would this be, this does seem to be the crux of the problem, and if I can get Microsofts website working on my computer using IE, then I think this will sort all my problems out. There doesn't seem to be anyone else posting on the internet with these problems, which is odd, so if anyone has some advice for me that would be fantastic.     - MSN Messenger and OE problem I've run this problem through the OE group and it was suggested I try posting it here. So, here goes. I am running OE 6 on Win98 SP2 and MSN Messenger version is 6.2.0137. I have two different OE accounts, both of which are POP3 accounts from my ISP. I do not have any other mail accounts set up to be received on OE. I can log onto one of my OE accounts just fine. But if MS Messenger is not pre started before logging onto the other one I get the following error message just after the OE banner: MSNMSGR caused an invalid page fault in > > > > module <unknown> at 0000:01160205. I have checked OE, MSN Messenger and Norton Anti-Virus. I do not have anything selected to automatically start any type of message service. And I do not have any message services set to be a default service. I can provide a verbatim of my previous posts if necessary. Can anyone give me some direction on locating the problem?     - really poor framerate on cam when sending to others, please help Hi all, I sometimes chat to my cousin in south africa, when shes online we let eachother see our webcams, hers is fine and shes on dial-up, but mine is terrible and i'm on 1mbit broadband, it sends like one frame every 20-30 seconds. My webcam works fine in yahoo but the reason for swapping messengers is we always crash on yahoo. If someone can help me out it would be great.
