When trying to install the MSN version 6.2 I get error
1706. Anyone knows how to fix this??? I had already a
version of MSN 6.2 but tried to unistall it when I
updated my softwaer from Windows 98 to Windows XP

PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

Lisa,

When you upgrade from Win98 to WinXP, there is a change in the system
variables, which means that WinXP will try to locate a different source for
the MSI file for Messenger.

Please try downloading Windows Installer Clean Up from
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/msiclean.htm

Run it and select Messenger 6.2 and remove the Windows Installer
information. Once done, try installing messenger 6.2 again.

also u say error 1706. it'd be great if u told me the
ERROR message that comes with the code aswell





also u can email msn support here:

tell them exactly what u said here. also tell them the
ERROR CODE AND!!!!! THE ERROR MESSAGE and that u've just
upgraded from windows 98 to windows xp

they'll take 48 hours to reply
