    - error code 0x81000303 I have not be able to sign into my hotmail.com account or msn messenger since changing my password yesterday. I get the error code 0x81000303. I tried changing my password but it says I have don't answer my secret question correctly. (that may be true, it's been a long time since I wrote it.) I have done everything these message boards have suggested regarding this problem, but nothing works. I have sent messages to both messenger and hotmail support, but have heard nothing back.I had to get a different account just to post this message as I could not sign in to net passport.     - Mic dies after a few seconds I am using the latest MSN - 6.2. I have uninstalled + reinstalled a couple of times. I am running XP Pro-SP2. I have the latest audio drivers for my on board sound. The audio device is listed as "C-Media AC97 Audio Device." I am behind a SOHO firewall. I have not opened any ports on it, as my problem did not exist previously with the same firewall configuration. The Problem - I start an audio conversation, and after about 2 seconds my mic stops working. I can still hear the person I am connected to when they speak. For the first 2 seconds I can see that the mic input slider is responding to my speech into the mic. After two seconds, the mic slider gets pinned to the top or sometimes to the bottom and then no longer responds as I speak (and the person I am connected to doesn't hear me). This has started happening 100% of the time. When it does happen Messenger continues to work, but as soon as the person I am connected to stops the audio conversation Messenger freezes completely (I can't even kill it in task manager). I am able to run through the tuning wizzard fine. I am able to use my mic for any other application - even right after Messenger freezes. I have had the mic working perfectly with the same hardware setup. All of a sudden this started happening. I guess I have had various software changes (no driver changes).     - Hotmail And Msn Hi, I have tried everything jonathan kay could come up with and still i cant log into msn or into hotmail ( using IE ). I can now finally read my hotmail e-mails because i downloaded netscape and it works everytime but i still cannot log into Msn i keep getting " you are not connected to the internet or your net. passport doesnt exist" but i know im connected to the net and i know the the password is correct because i can log into hotmail. I'm thinking to do a project, and one of part of the project will be able to get the online list from the MSN messenger (All the login logoff or send msg will still in MSN messenger. For example, YIM has some limited capabilities with ymsgr: URIs and AIM has quite a rich set with aim: Ideally, I would like to place an HREF on a page that when clicked would send a message to an MSN user, if he is online.     - No audio in Messenger 6.2 - Please Help! Audio used to work perfectly with MSN Messenger 6.2 in Windows XP. As soon as I installed SP2, I lost the ability to speak with anyone. If I invite a contact to have an audio conversation (or vice versa), the screen shows that the other party has accepted the invite, but after about 30 seconds, the screen shows that the 'conversation has ended'.     - Video blocked from Dlink DI-614+ router When I start do video conference, the other side is unabled to see me as blocked out. As I'm fixing the friend's router as I only know how to operate it cos I'm only one understanding english, but 1st time to see the Dlink wireless router, so what are the steps to open the video conference to internet? As there are 3 PC with webcams on each PC, as the only communication is video as all family are deaf. Also I see about the Dlink firmware as cannot upgrade the latest, cos it say the latest version is for USA only, not European. When doing video, as blacks out, doing few times, will pass thru.     - New Feature Request A new feature that I would LOVE to see would be that display pictures (your own and others) would stay hidden when you opened new windows. Now, if you or the other person had changed a picture since you last had the window it would open so you could need a new picture. And.. if you won't do this... at least add the option to have your own start out minimized by default... if we set our own picture we don't really need to see it everytime we open a conversation.     - Hung up in Beta 7.0 update Hi! This may have been asked before but I checked through a number of pages and could not find it. Anyway here goes. I downloaded the beta 7.0 version of MSN and was using it and liking it. However at some point it said "There is an update and you MUST download it to be able to use MSN" So I downloaded it. It turned out to be the 6.2 version so sure enough, during installation I got the error saying "Oh dearie you have a newer version of MSN installed on your system I cannot possibly install this version" The result being that I am hung up in the updating process: beta 7.0 will not let me use it without using the update and the update will not run because it's an older version..... I sent this to CS to which I got an automated reply after a week (instead of the promised 24 hours) with self help information aimed at solving Windows SP2 related problems.... at any rate useless to solve my problem.     - web cam in messenger Around two years ago we purchased a CREATIVE VIDEO BLASTER WEBCAM for use on a windows 98 PC for use on msn netmeeting for links from england to australia, and except for some trouble connecting, the web cam did send video piccy's ok. To attempt to improve the success with trouble free connection, (it is my mothers machine, she is 73 and uses it mainly to net meet with her daugher (my sister) in australia) we have purchased a new dell 'puter with windows XP installed. - my brother in law suggested that the windows 98 and there XP in australia might not be helping - I'm not sure this would be the case. We have plugged in the creative web cam and loaded the software and the web cam works okay and records video's and stills into the album okay - we can see the web cam image in the video screen that appears on the monitor. When we run audio/video testing in net meeting the web cam works okay and any other test the I have run checks out okay and comfirms that every thing is okay with the web cam However, when we connected with aus' we could send audio okay and could see thieir video AND OUR IMAGE ON OUR SCREEN HERE IN ENGLAND but they could not see our video on their screen in aus'.     - Recommendation for new feature I would like to suggest that you allow us to change our status by clicking the status message that is in the message window (showing you are away, etc. when you go to send a new message). Make it work like you have done in Service Pack 2 with the pop up blocker "allow this site; temporarily, always, etc.".     - 6.2 goes back to 4.7 I downloaded the new version 6.2 and everythng worked fine. However after I closed down and opened it back up later, it went back to the old version. I went to the site to download it again and after downb loading it asked if i wanted to repair or uninstall. I can't seem to get MSN Messenger to log on. says I am not on the internet or servers unavailable. Well, the system is fine and I am on the internet. I have been going round and round.     - No Audio with MSN Messenger 6.2 Hi All: I've read through the posts here and I'm running out of ideas. I have Windows XP SP2 installed, all the updates, a Logitech Orbit, separate microphone, and I'm trying to set up the ability to have video calls. The video works fine, but I can not get the audio to work - either me sending audio or receiving audio through the speakers. I am behind a Netgear WGT624 router and I have Norton Systemworks 2005 firewall security. (I have turned off the Norton so I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.) I have turned uPnP ON inside the router. I have run tests with different contacts so I'm sure the problem is on my end. And audio works with Yahoo Messenger. Any ideas for me to do now?     - Auto-Login? My messenger doesn't seem to recognize that I'm online (6.2). It just sits with the X over the icon. I have to manually connect.     - Firewall Query? I am experiencing poor transfer rate with some people on my contact list, and we are trying to determine whether the problem is at my end or theirs. All are running a broadband/high speed connection. With some transfer is fine but with others it starts off ok then reduces to a snails pace. When this occurs the usual firewall alert appears at the top of the messenger window explaining slow transfer rate BUT neither people involved have firewalls on...     - Error 0x81000365 - Can't login Hi. I'm using MSN Messenger 6.2 (Norwegian version) with Windows XP SP2. I'm using NATP trough my DSL modem (Speedtouch), and it works perfectly. Also using the UPnP protocol that is supported in my DSL modem. MSN Messenger works fine all the time except after my DSL modem is being reconfigured by my ISP. When my modem is back online (2 mins after i get disconnected, with a new external ip), i get this error message when trying to connect MSN Messenger again. I've tried restarting MSN Messenger with no luck. Also checked settings configurations suggested in other posts. My IE settings is: Connect trough LAN. No proxy, SSL 2 & 3 is checked. Server certificate is off. All other internett applications works fine after the reconfigureing of my DSL modem is done, including IE. My only solution to this is a reboot.     - Messenger hangs My messenger hangs when I try to open it double-clicking the icon on the lower-right side of the screen. It is connected and logged in but won't open the window where it shows my contacts for a long time (15-30min) When it finaly opens, it disconnects and when I try to log in again, it hangs. But it does not hang the computer. All other programs keep working fine. It's just the messenger. And it only happens when I'm at work.     - Can't sign onto MSN Messenger I can't sign onto MSN Messenger anymore. I am not sure why. I get an error message saying the server is down or you may not be connected to the internet. When of course I am because I am here as well as on other pages. Please do not put down to do the same things as you have on these other posts. I have already done all that. I am not sure why it would change now. I have not installed anything new. I can't seem to download and install windows updates either. It says it is doing it but when it completes it says can not install. I am running WIN 2k. I am signed on as administrator as always. I also can't seem to get onto MSN Gaming zone anymore either. I thought well, will try to install AIM...when I did that it says my browswer won't accept cookies even tho it is set to accept ALL cookies and I even see the cookie on my computer. *SIGH* I can't even get to BackChat on the zone or talk to any other sysops.     - Disconnect from MSN, unable to log back in. A client of mine has recently encountered an interesting problem. While using MSN, she was disconnected, stating that someone else had logged in elsewhere. Now, she appears as offline. When attempting to reset her password, her secret question is "hhhhhhhhh".
