Group:

I'm using v6.1.0203. When I log in to XP, and MSN attempts to auto-start I
get a message "You cannot sign in to MSN Messenger because you are using an
old version of MSN Messenger", but then I can sign in manually. Any ideas
why, and how to rectify?

Cheers

Greetings Den,

Just to verify, are you sure it's not Windows Messenger that's automatically trying to sign
in and bringing up that message?

Regardless, the latest version of 6.1.0211, which you can upgrade to here:

The upgrade is definitely recommended in your case, as 6.1.0203 has some nasty bugs and
6.1.0211 also includes some security fixes.
