    - Cannot Verify Email address MS Messenger keeps telling me that I need to verify my email address. However it does not tell me how to do initiate this. OK - it tells me to go to my email account and click on some email from MS Passport Services (or something like that), but I have not such an email. I keep my email account well clear of junk mail, and get so much spam apparently from MS telling me to install the latest upgrades that I filter out everything from MS.     - No login on Windows box, but web logon fine Hi, I cannot logon on my Windows Live Messenger on my computer! The account is valid (I can logon anywhere on MS web pages using same username/password)! The firewall has been set to allow Messeger 8.0. No resctrictions on outgoing connections in router!     - Newly added contact don't show up Hi! I've just added a contact, and she has also just added me, but none of us is geting any notification that the other has added the other as a contact. I then logged on through MSN Web Messenger, and then all was fine and I could accept her to my contact list. But, when I went back to normal MSN (I use Live Messenger 8.0, build 8.0.0812.00) the contact which I just had accepted through Web Messenger did not show up there. Could it be a cache problem?     - WLM add-in question for file writing Guys, I have a question regarding WLM add-in SDK. I am trying to write to a file on my hard drive. But as soon as the the add-in makes to that piece of code error prompts and kills my Add-in. Below is the error message I am getting on execution. The add-in "add-in name" has encountered an error and will be turned off. 8013150a. I have done some research on my part, but I couldn't get satisfactory answer obviously. One or two-liners sent from via an open relay. This is typical: i'd like to talk sometime wih you. especially since you are so attractive the name i use on msn messenger is emilylivecat . Can you add me pls? This means that the MSN Messenger account is emilylivecat@hotmail.com The account is a spam bot. If you add this account to MSN and type anything, you'll see a set script returned to you, along with the payload of the spam - a subdomain of the domain localgirlcams.com (something like http://sexyemily86.localgirlcams.com/) This redirects to www.slickcams.com Until a few months ago, the domains slickcams.com and localgirlcams.com were registered directly to FCI, Inc. Currently, both domains are registered to a phony offshore address Both websites are still hosted by Accretive Technology Group - which according to Spews, is owned by FCI: http://www.spews.org/html/S2792.html Now it gets interesting... Flying Croc owns/controls a service called "MoneyTree" You will notice that the MoneyTree domain (mtree.com) is registered directly to Flying Croc - exactly how slickcams.com and localgirlcams.com were registered until a few months ago. See http://wm.mtree.com/webmasters/if_aboutus.html See especially this statement: "MoneyTree is based in Seattle, Washington and is one of many products and services offered by FlyingCrocodile, Inc. & SexTracker." Now look at the following set of postings at the Porn spammer Forum "Gofuckyourself.com": http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=576773 (Google cache: http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:eM1L8oHB_mUJ:www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php%3Ft%3D576773+Flying%2BCroc+site:gofuckyourself.com&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=2&client=firefox-a) According to this, FCI/MoneyTree was abusing Yahoo Chat in January, 2006, setting up chat bots to spew out "thousands" of URLs for MoneyTree The implication in this thread is that FCI was BEHIND this abuse I have no doubts that Flying Croc is directly running this Spam bot campaign on MSN Messenger. I have sent this information to the Washington state Attorney General's office. This appears to me to be a possible criminal conspiracy involving compromise of Yahoo and MSN Microsoft is investigating this activity, and is deleting Hotmail accounts being abused in this way. If anyone else is dealing with similar spam and spambots on MSN Messenger, please post the email address in microsoft.public.msn.messenger If anyone knows more about Flying Croc, please post it in NANAE. I hope that Microsoft in conjunction with the Washington state AG's office will pursue legal action shortly (Apologies for the cross post.     - cannot view webcam My son who is at uni contacts use using MSN (7.5)Messenger, by means of a Evesham Laptop, with built in camera/webcam.     - Live Messenger causes random reboot - driver issue??? Hi, ever since I installed Live Messenger, my computer will invariably reboot itself suddenly soon after starting Messenger up. I get a message when I log on again, saying my system has recovered from a serious error.     - WLM 8 will not install I've had this trouble since it first came out of beta. I searched, and tried re registering msiexec. To no avail. I read about a solution that involved altering the installer itself, but if I can, I'd avoid that. Here is the error: http://s12.imagehosting.us/uploadpoint/imagehosting_upload_storage/nouser_1699/T0_-1_1699455.jpg I read that running the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility would do it, but running that gave me an error too, before it could do anything. One day everything worked perfect and then literally two weeks ago I noticed that my Messenger (v 7) contact card no longer displayed the links into my Space.     - Router Enabled UPnP could cause connection Problems I could not connect with messenger live all of the sudden. after extensive system troubleshooting I decided to look outside the box. I disabled the UPnP service on my router and "wham bam thank you mam" the Live messenger connects now. I am not sure if there is a port conflict or with the forwarding in live but with UPnP on the asp.net service has trouble retaining the connections and hangs the system.     - What to do when Jonathan's fixes don't work Since I installed Windows Live Messenger on one of my computers, I think I was able to sign in once and since then have not been able to sign in with it at all. The "guys just keep spinning". I've tried both of Jonathan's registry cleanup files. After removing MSNMessenger entries, I get error 81000395 the next time I try but other than that, I don't get any error or anything. Web Messenger works fine, Trillian works, and Windows Live Messenger works on another computer. All of this is with the same sign-in. I've been trying with all firewalls disabled. What's next?     - sign in problem I cannot sign into live messenger with one of my hotmail accounts. I can sign into it fine with other accounts, but there's just one it refuses to sign in with. I can sign into hotmail with it to check my email, so I know it isn't a password problem, and seeing as I can sign in with my other accounts, I assume it isn't a connection problem either. I have a problem that started today with LCS communicating with MSN via
Public Internet. Basically I can send outbound messages to MSN, but when I
attempt to send messages from MSN, the messages take 1-2 minutes to go
through if at all.

Everything is configured properly, I am about to communicate via LCS to AIM
and Yahoo perfectly. Connectivity with MSN has worked fine up until today.
Nothing has changed as far as configuration.

MSN Shows the Network status as working.. I am stuck.. Help!

Greetings Ben,

I don't specifically have information about this, but all my contacts that are using LCS /w
Federation are not online on Messenger but are appearing online on AIM. So, I do think
something is broken.
