By coincidense (or however you write that :-) ) I did find the next thing:

On http://join.msn.com/messenger/requirements (I see that in Dutch) it
states that Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME or Windows XP
must be on system to use MSN Messenger.
But on http://messenger.msn.com/SysReqxp.aspx it states that MSN Messenger
only can be used on WindowsXP??

Greetings,

MSN Messenger 7.0 works on 98/2k/ME/XP.

MSN Messenger 7.5 works on XP exclusively (although just copying it to 2000 will work as
well).

Okay, but as usual there are no version numbers on both the URL's I did
mention. And the link to download Messenger on
http://join.msn.com/messenger/requirements (where all Windows versions are
mentionend as minimum requirement) does lead to MSN Messenger 7.5. So the
minimal requirements on that page are not correct, so confusing.

Hi Menno,

By the time anyone does anything about this confusion, it won't matter anymore :)

I think the ultimate link to download MSN Messenger is:
http://messenger.msn.com/Download/
It detects your current OS and offers you the latest valid
version in the language of your OS.
You can change both and download the package to install it
later.
Too bad (still), it doesnt exactly tell you what version and
build you will get.
I usually download ad compare the number of bytes with my
previous download to see if it is a newer version.
