Join the club. I get the same "connecting to" problem with others, and with
my friend, he ccannot hear me. Me - Netgear router. However, I don't think
it is my router. I had problems on & off before I got the router - voice
did work for a time.
One other thing that I was told to try, that I did but was no help, but yuo
might want to try - enable UPnP in your router (don't know what it is,
except that it is now enabled).
There is still a chance it is my friend and his set-up & his Netgear router
that can't hear me, since I have not tried voice with anyone else since
updating as suggested my QoS packets (disabled in I.E. ) & UPnP enabled in
my router.
Everything else works just fine in MSN Messenger.. It remains superior to
Yahoo Messenger for files transfers, but that is it.. Yahoo Messenger has
always worked fine voice, webcam, routers or not, SP1 or SP2. I would
suggest you take a look at Yahoo Messenger..
