Well starting about one or two months ago my MSN stopped signing in, it just
says "Signing in.." for ages
until it gives up and goes back to the start screen where it says "Click
below to sign in:". I recieve no error
message what so ever. The weird part is that my other account signs in fine.
The only difference between the
two accounts is that my main has a lot of contacts while the other one (the
one that works) has only 1.
This is MSN 7.0 and I've tried reinstalling several times to no avail. I
should also mention that the problem account
signs in fine when using webmessenger. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I have exactly the same problems and tried about the same things... It all
started a few days ago. Funny part is that this morning it signed in again.

Greetings James,

You might try rebuilding your client cache. To do so, click Start, then Run, then type:
%appdata%\microsoft
and click OK.

Right-click the MSN Messenger folder and choose Delete. After all this, restart Messenger
and see if the problem has been corrected.

Hi,
I've read all related topics and done all you've suggested..
uninstalled and installed MSN 7.0816 several times and deleted the MS
Messenger folder, deleted registry entries, rebuilt cache, unchecke
connection options, IE security options are as needed and still I can'
sign in. I have win 2k sp4 and no firewall. Sometimes it freezes durin
sining in window and somtimes contact list with no contacts comes u
and then freezes... my contacts see me as online.
It started two two days ago, when I upgraded from 7.0813 to 7.0816
7.0813 worked fine... some bugs, but no sining in problems.
Any more ideas, what could be wrong?
