Greetings,
The built-in firewall in Windows cannot block Messenger as it only blocks incoming traffic.
Messenger can reply on outgoing traffic only in HTTP mode (which is triggered automatically
in these situations).
Of course, standard TCP links don't really get blocked in the manner suggested. If you can
connect to Messenger, you'll get messages unless something is analyzing said packets and
dropping them.
