From Sunday morning I am unable to connect to MSN via
firewall. (Without firewall on ADSL I can connect.)

I notice that Messenger is not reading my Internet
Explorer configuration regarding proxy, but instead is
trying to connect directly on port tcp/1863.

Is this a new bug?

Greetings Micha,

It's not a new bug, but some the ways to connect to the service have been temporarily
disabled (this is part of the "minor difficulties" on the status page:
http://messenger.msn.com/status.aspx

For the time being, you'll have to allow Messenger to connect to 1863 directly.

Jonathan,

Thanks for the reply.

Does "temporarily" disabled, mean "permanently" disabled?
