    - msn 6 NOT working I installed msn 6 today, and everything works fine.. except that I can't send messages! When I try to send someone a message, I automatically get a "could not be delivered to recipient thing" I know there's nothing wrong with my connection. I had the old version this morning and everything was working fine. I tried uninstalling msn 6 hoping my 5 would come back but it uninstalled everything and now there's nowhere I can get version 5 again. I don't know when version 6 was released but I am already NOT happy with it as it has been extremely frustrating! It's full of bugs, I want my 5 back! Tag: Can't change status Tag: 26771

    - Messenger 6.0 Launch Site Problem I've got a problem with the Messenger 6.0 Launch Site. Below the Activities menu, the only option/game available is the "Tic-Tac-Toe".     - That Worked Great My sister and I are both on Win XP pro, Linsys Router BEFSR41, Intel NIC card (both of ours were enabled) we disabled them. After figuring out that she did not have the most current update for the linksys, she installed that and now we work PERFECTLY. We tried disabling the QoS Packet, and that seemed to make no difference either way. I also work great with my son overseas who is on XP home, but he is not on a router, and no firewall. My other son on dial up doesn't seem to be working yet. I get his video but not audio yet, he gets my video and audio. Still working on that one. Tag: Can't change status Tag: 26759

    - - The most embarassing question ever asked, anywhere... Okay, this is without a doubt the most embarassing question I've ever asked. And that says a lot. My MSN Messenger has been auto-logging into the service for a year... ditto with the hotmail email check. I never have to enter my password. Now I need to log in from another computer and can't remember my password. Keeping in mind that my original computer obviously knows it and has a cookie auto-logging me in... where can I retrieve this password?     - Messenger and firewalls... I have been using Messenger on my computer at work, and it has generally worked fine up until yesterday... now it keeps giving me a "Signing in failed because you do not have the correct UserID and password for your network's HTTP proxy server" message.     - Deploying MSN 6 Seems like MSN 6 is not for the business enviorment however we like MSN 6 due to all the features. Is there a way to deploy MSN 6 over a corporate network? ALso We use MSN 6 and create .NET accounts which takes the hugh load off of us from buying a server, costs, maintiance etc buy haiving a messenging server from Exchange. We also get to reserve our own accounts in our domain name. Is there a way to script the configeration of MSN 6? Example would be to save the messenger logs to a network drive, disable the ability for a user to disconnect MSN 6, and to script the user accounts in MSN 6. Let me know. It seems to demand that all other versions of Messenger--including Windows Messenger--be uninstalled first. Thankfully, the installer warns that MSN Messenger does *not* include support for Exchange Instant Messaging and the Communications Service.     - MSN6, options in XP not in 2000 Someone told me about unclick a box and 'putting me in busy and full screen apps' blah blah for audible beep. On windows 2000 with MSN 6 that option is 'not' available, at home on my XP it is available and "no" it doesn't beep when I am in game and I get messaged. Just wanted to make sure you know that.     - unable to sign in to MSN Messenger After having trouble with MSN Messenger, I have uninstalled it and redownloaded and installed MSN Messenger version 6. I don't have any other trouble with accessing Web sites, but when I try to log onto MSN I get a message that says: ******** "Sorry, we could not sign you in because the sign-in name you entered does not exist or your password is incorrect." ******** I know the sign-in name is from a valid Passport account because I have used it in the past with no trouble. I also have not changed my password nor have I forgotten it. Also, others have tried to log on to MSN with my new installation and they can't get on either.     - Display Picture & Background problem I have a problem with the display pictures and backgrounds in Messenger 6.0. It seems that whenever I sign out or close Messenger, the "default" background changes back to the MSN Default background, even though I selected "Set as Default". The same happens to my display picture - when I sign out, it changes to a random picture instead of the one I had previously chosen.     - Cant Login Hi, I am wondering if anyone could help me on this. On this very moment I cant login into my msn accoutn with messenger. It says that the service is unavailable but when I check the server status it says that they are all fine. When I login with another accoutn I can login without any problems. I have allready sent a mail to the support but they told me that I have to reinstall the messenger, but after doing that the problem still is there.     - Intel NIC One Way Audio with MSN 6 - workaround For people having issues with one way audio on their Intel NIC cards with MSN Messenger 6, I believe we have a workaround. It appears the issue is being caused by the Intel driver's implementation of 802.1p, which is enabled by default in these drivers. To disable this, go to the properties for your network card, click the Configure button in the General page, click the Advanced tab, Select 802.1p support, and set the value to disabled. Let me know if this helps or not. Also let me know if the value was already set to disabled.     - IM 4.6.0084 (For Exchange2000); Can not import or save contact lists We are deploying the IM for internal purposes, and for a strange reason SOME user are not getting any menu/windows/selection AFTER clicking on either of the options related to the Contacts Lists. There does not "seem" to be a common configuration trouble, since this challenge happen on different Windows 2000 workstation and servers, and Windows XP with SP1. The client installed is the latest available from MS site. Since we have a lot of user to add to contacts lists, we have create (from one of those that works) a copy of the list so we could import instead of adding one by one. I searched the TechNet and "googled", but cannot find any similar behaviors reported... Any one as an idea what could cause this? Thanks for any information/pointer and help.     - Difficulty with 6.0 I just updated messenger to the 6.0 version and it doesn't seem to like working with the Norton 2001. The previous 5. whatever it was worked fine, but this new one won't work! I keep getting the "check that you are logged onto the internet and could be the service" message. Not sure what the files are that I have to unblock etc in the firewall to get it to work. I know it's a firewall problem because if I disable it, the messenger works.     - deleted folder today, the 16th i logged on to my hotmail to check for messages, I had recieved some mail but was not able to view so i figured i check it later. When my screensaver becomes active it changes my status
to away. Messenger 6.0 cannot change my status after this
occurs. Reboot will clear this. Windows XP Pro. Behind
corporate firewall.
