Anyone able to get Audio conversations working today, was it the upgrade to
6.2.0137 or is there a network problem?

Greetings Matt,

Audio conversations go directly from you to your contact -- they have nothing to do with .NET
Messenger service itself (besides the sending of the "invitation").

As such, any problems with audio are related to either your networking configuration, or your
contacts.

Yes Matt there is definitely a problem with 6.2 and some implimentations of
UPnP on Routers. I and others have brought the pronlems to Jonathan Kay's
attention before. The problem is surely with 6.2 as going back to 6.1 cures
the problem.

Jonathan, if you are watching this thread....have you heard of any fix for
this problem?

Jim

Hi Jim,

Sadly no, I haven't heard any specific on this issue recently.

Once we get all these contact issues sorted, I'll see what I can do.

How do I go back to 6.1? I only have a 6.0 installation file, as
I just upgraded to 6.1, and to 6.2 last time. Re-installing 6.0
doesn't work, as soon as I want to log in, it asks for the
upgrade to 6.2. Won't work without it.

Btw, I don't have a router, but my friends have, and they can
hear me, but I can't hear them.

I have the same question, since I'd like to see
if using 6.1 gets rid of the constant interruptions
in voice conversations I'm getting in 6.2.

I am no expert on this matter but suggest you download it from here:

http://www.aqow84.dsl.pipex.com

Also I think you should do an uninstall of 6.2 before installing 6.1

Also I think you would be wise to install 6.1 while disconnected from the
net.

Hope this helps you.

Jim

Thanks for this link. I've downloaded this and hope that
it solves the audio problem. I have a feeling that the
problem with audio started when I installed 6.2. MS's
normal route of an upgrade breaking things that worked.
