If so, I find it VERY hard to believe....

I've tried multiple Windows XP SP2 computers and multiple configurations -
from behind uPnP routers, without routers, with software firewalls on and
off - and NEVER ONCE have I or the people I have tried to chat with heard a
peep.

Yet, never a problem with Yahoo Messenger or Skype. (Skype will go through
anything...)

Just disgusted at how much time I've wasted on this....

In addition, the webcam stuff seems to work, but the more important video
conferencing doesn't.

Sheesh.....

Hi Sid,

Well, for the record, my contacts and I use it on a near-daily basis (some behind routers,
some without). However before you give me the evil eye, I have found some cases where even I
couldn't get a friends' connection to probably establish a connection and can tell you that
the next version of Messenger improves further on Messenger's audio connection abilities, so
you may want to give that a go when a public version is released.

Hi Jonathan -

I know you've tried to help me before with these issues and I know you spend
a lot of time working on Messenger and trying to answer issues about it
here. So I certainly respect what you have to say. It's also obvious that
current Messenger software has many problems with audio from all the posts I
see about it.

I'm going to try to round up a 7.0 beta 0332 build. I've seen a couple of
good posts about it. I understand it's beta so if it doesn't work, I won't
be disappointed. But I'm hoping I do get something to work out of Messenger.

Thanks.

Yes. And no. At one time, in the past, I had it working. Lately not. I don't
really use it enough to try and troubleshoot it, though.
