Confirming MCSE credentials
How does one go about confirming someones MCSE and other
Microsoft credentials? I have seen certificates of
completion for Microsoft. Are these just certificates
saying that someone completed a training class?? If they
have tested and are an MCSE should they have a certificate
that says MCSE NT4 or MCSE WINDOWS 2000? Or do you just
have the required numcer of certificates of completion to
show that you are an MCSE. The same with MCP do you have a
certificate that says MCP windows 2000 pro?? Tag: Use these critical patch from MS Tag: 99384
Making replica file servers
What would everyone recommend the best method for making a
fault tolerant setup for a file server? Of course there is
the normal implementations like RAID 1+5 or other
variations. But what about actually making two file
servers that are identical somehow and replicating the
files on each back and forth? Is there a way to do this?
DFS has a way to make a replica but I was under the
assumption that it only made a replica of the DFS
namespace. I didn't think it actually put copies of all
the files on both servers as well. I've done this in the
past with robocopy and AT, but I was looking for a better
solution then that. Any ideas? Tag: Use these critical patch from MS Tag: 99380
Calculating max. number of subnets RFC950 or RFC1878
Does anyone know if Microsoft bases their exams on RFC950
or RFC1878 for calculating the maximum number of possible
subnets (use 2^n-2 or just 2^n).
In other words, does Microsoft allow use of the all 0's
and all 1's subnets???

Took 71-282 Beta Today
For any of you who are interested about the new test for
2003 "Designing, Deploying and Managing a Network Solution
for a Small- and Medium-Sized Busienss"...The test wasn't
too hard and looked a lot like an Administration test or
that they just wanted to see what the user new about the
functionalities built in to 2003 Server for Small
Businesses. I used what I know from Win 2000 and the
little I know about 2003 and was able cancel out answers I
knew were not right on most of the tests. Everything was
pretty straight forward and there weren't any really
longscenarios to read.I'll get my scores in 3 months so
for all I know I bombed it. At the very least it really
burned me out with 90 questions, but I'm sure the actual
test will be much shorter.

Exchange 2003 when?
Dear all,
I have finished 70-210, 70-270, 70-215, 70-216 and 70-217 and I have
scheduled myself 70-218 next week. After passing 70-218, I plan to take
exchange next and leaving the design question (70-219) the last exam for
MCSE.
Exchange 2003 is out for some time now and I recently read somewhere that
this exam is still under beta testing. When will the exam and all the
training materials be out? I usually study with some MCSE books and then
using the resource kit to gain more technical knowledge. With a testlab and
help of Vmware, I would estimate to be competent in Exchange might take me 4
months.
Or should I go for Exchange 2000 instead as most organization is still using
Exchange 2000 then upgrade to Exchange 2003 later? Any opinions?
Final question: Is there any resource kit or equivalent for ISA 2000 also as
I couln't find it at Technet? I might be taking ISA 2000 before or after
completing MCSE. Tag: Use these critical patch from MS Tag: 99363
