I guess all the entry level tech jobs really are moving to India. Microsoft
is now offering discounts for people taking tests in India. Good luck to
all the end users in North America who will not only have to get past the
technical aspects of computers but when they call for help will have to
understand what the tech is saying through a thick accent.

i know, earthlink announced yesterday that they are closing their support in
sacramento and sending the jobs to india, 450 local ones to be exact.
nonetheless, i am cancelling my earthlink account just so i don't throw any
support their way.

To clarify a bit,,, it is misconception that ONLY entry level jobs are
moving there. Did you know your iPOD was born in India? Lots of new Intel
Chips are being designed over there as well... Time to look for a non-IT
job...

Don't look for a job in accounting, record keeping, data entry, design,

True, but so far only commercial support. They have no plans to move PC
support back anytime soon. Maybe if people stopped buying their crap they
would.

*hangs head in shame and disgust*

I just bought a fscking Inspiron ~ 4 mos ago. Had to get monitor freqs from
tech support for a SuSe install. Still have not gotten a coherent reply from
them. The firewall^H^H^H^Hhelpdesk keeps insisting that I can configure the
monitor in "Display Properties" I say, "not Windows - Linux!" They say "We
only support factory installed software!" I say, "Not software, monitor is
hardware!" they say "Display Properties" etc. I say "Can I speak with
somebody who understands my language?" they say " Oh, I am most certainly an
American personage, in facted, my name happens to be Ramjit, excuse me
please, I mean Randy!"

Buy another Dell? Nah.

I ordered an Inspiron 5150 3.0 GHz HT on Dec 10th. UPS lost (someone stole)
the shipment. On Dec 22 Dell customer server said I would receive a
replacement within 5-7 days. Still don't have my laptop. Been back and forth
with them numerous times.

Buy another Dell? Nah.

i think those that complain about the movement of jobs but still buy from
said companies really should shut up.. if you can only complain, but are
