If my understanding is correct, a non - authoritative AD restore will not update the USN of an object being restored. Once an object is restored, it will then be updated by any other DC's in the domain
Last night I deleted an object (OU) as part of an exercise, and then restored it to simulate someone accidently deleting an object.
Observations
1) Within 5 minutes of deleting the OU, the other DC's had also removed the O
2) Upon doing a non-authoritative AD restore, the object was immediately deleted agai
3) The only way to get it back again was to carry out an authoratitave AD Restor
Questions
1) How often do Admins backup their system state
2) Is it normal for the AD object to be removed and replicated to other DC's so quickly
