        • Any exchange server 2000 expert here? Hi, I have some issues with my exchange server 2000 1. Spam issue Whenever I checked the "Allow all computers which successfully authenicate to relay, regardless the list above", spammer would able to hack in the exchange server and send out ten thoursands of spam using my exchange server. I am not sure why that is happening because the options I checked require computers to be authenicated before the relay. The reason I check this box is because I have a few branch offices relay on my exchange server to send emails. And some locations won't have a static IP, so I can't really specify a certain range of IP addresses to relay. I finally bought a firewall and setup vpn connections from those remote offices and mobile laptops clients in order to relay the exchange server. Out of curiousity, how did the spammer authenicate to my exchange server in the first place? 2. Email issue. When a staff send email to the distribution list from the global address book. One of the individual is having problem getting the email. The error message is below and some of the information like name, IP and domain info are modified. When I tried to send email to this individual instead of using the distribution list and he has no problem getting my emails. I wonder why. I hope someone is able to help me. • Little help with 70-226 study please The book I'm using does not seem to explain the relationship between NLBing and Clusters. I know I can have up to 4 nodes in a cluster and I know there can be up to 32 host on a NLB so it seems obvious to me that NLBing is not restricted to a cluster. So how would one NLB across mutable clusters? Also I was wondering if it would be possible in theory to NLB as individual groups by putting a proxy server in front of each cluster and just NLB across the proxies and have 128 host under the NLB? Thanks ~Ben Tag: mcse Tag: 101379

        • Win2k Domain with WinNT BDC help! I have a Win2k Advance Server (with SP4) just been promoted to a domain controller (still in mixed mode). I have just installed a WinNT 4.0 Server BDC (with SP1). When trying to join the BDC to the win2k domain, I key in the following Computer Name = BDC Domain = jeff Administrator Name = administrator Password = administrator password I get "The machine account for this computer does not exist or is inaccessible" error message. I tried to create a computer account called "BDC" under domain controller or under computers with "Allow pre windows 2000 to use this account". Instead I get this message "This computer is already configured as a workstation or server on the domain. Please contact your domain administrator". I cannot figure out what seems to be the problem. Anyone can help me? Tag: mcse Tag: 101308

        • OT Security Clearance I have looked at many jobs which require a US Gov Clearance. It seems like it is a catch 22. You have to get a job to get a clearance but to get a clearance you have to have a job the has access to information which would require a clearance. Does anyone know if there is a procedure to get a clearance without being sponsored? Rick Tag: mcse Tag: 101234

        • Moving AD Domains I'm pretty sure the answer is "no you can't", but is there a way of rearranging AD domains within a tree or forest. Suppose I have a domain DeptA.Here.ThisOrganisation.Nhs.UK And owing to reorganisation I need to move it to: DeptA.There.ThisOrganisation.Nhs.UK Can it be done? Tag: mcse Tag: 101227

        • I am loosing the will to cert. With people like this 'allitcertkiller.com' crap I am losing the will to do anymore certifications. For the honest person there is simply no hope. I feel like a lone individual taking on a Red Army of cheaters. I've heard all the arguments about people who cheat their certs can't cut it in a technical interview. This assumes that you will get a technical interview in the first place. I know of people who have got good technical IT jobs and have not been asked a single taxing technical question during interview. Some of the time the interviewers are not that technical themselves which makes it easy for your cheaters to blag their way to a job. I would say for every one person with a real cert there must be ten or twenty with a fraudulent one. People say a cert won't get you job, maybe so, but it will definitely help get you picked for an interview over someone who has less, or no certs. I finished my mcse and mcsa in 2000 about 14 months ago. It took me a year almost to the day to complete. I had to study my butt off to learn the material to pass the exams. Now however, I not sure if it is really worth all that work to upgrade my cert to 2003 when in a month or two from now loads of people will be just downloading or even buying the exam answers from websites like the above. This kind of practice has just got to stop if the MS certs aren't to go from joke status to totally meaningless. Everyone knows you can't stop these exam answers from being propagated via the Internet, so MS has to change the exam format simple as that and make all of the mcsx exams lab based, in part at least. Just think MS have the cash to setup testing labs. Although it may take a while they could have lab based exams in say two or three years, just in time for the win 2000 exams to expire. You cannot cheat a lab based exam simple as that. Better still you could have it so say if you fail the lab after three attempts you will not be able to take it again for six months or a year. That would stop people just bashing away at it until they got a pass. What ever happens they just have to do something and fast. Stopping the braindump sites is like trying to stop P2P file sharing, impossible. Tag: mcse Tag: 101134
