Hi,

My son is considering attending one of the MCSE boot camps through
globalknowledge.com.

Does anyone have any feedback, posative or negative concerning
gobalknowledge.com, boot camps, or both?

Thanks,
Mike

He already has a good job doing PC support, but just wants to add the
MCSE cert to his resume. But, I understand the point; If he really
wants to learn it he needs to take the time to do it right. I just
wanted a separate opinion on it.

I recently started doing independant study for MCSE myself. Got my
books and a lab setup and have completed the first few chapters.

Thanks,
Mike

Your son is the exception. It's good that he already has a job in the IT
field. As such, there's no reason to rush through a boot camp on this.
While I generally reserve recommending anyone along this line, you might
want to look into more tradtional training, like at a local community
college or even New Horizons.

And you've got your own study partner. Nice start.

I would stay away from the "for profit" training schools. If you have a
local community college that offers courses I would look into that. It
may take longer, but you should get a better bang for your buck.

in the community college, do the Cisco classes instead. they will come in
handier in the real world.
