Installing Active Directory on standalone server
Please help i feel such a fool...have an evaluation
licence that i got with the training manual but have
problems trying to install AD. The server is standalone
with no network connections but receive errors that there
is no network connection, surely you can install AD with
a standalone server for training purposes..no mention in
Microsoft training manual that you need 2 servers

after some search I found that the IPC$ is not shared so
I typed net share IPC$ it seams to work for 20 seconds
only .. and I found that all partitions is not shared for
the admin($) so I shared it with $ and it's not work...
in the end I found that my clients can't get to the
master brawser but I havn't a wins server all this errors
for one reason but I can't find any solution so can any
body help me please

After his posting, others followed and later on in the morning Chalks phrase
was spelled out. I let out an emotional scream when Kat finished it with an
R at 11:41 AM. I was proud of the fact that Frisbee and his fiefdom on
MCNGPers backed me up. The posting list was like a who's who of MCNGP,

Security for adding workstations
We presently have Active Directory in a single domain model. We are assigning security to our remote sites at the OU level. Meaning each site has their own OU and they have Full Control over their OU. We are having problems with our LAN admins ability to add workstations to the domain. As you know, by default, the workstations get put into the "computers" directory when adding them to the domain. We do not want to give LAN admins that access and would like them to be able to add the workstation directly to their OU. Any ideas?? Tag: u2 baby Tag: 125867

Way back when, when glaciers covered the earth, and I took the NT 3.51
Server and Networking Essentials tests, I rememeber thinking that I
would've been hard pressed to have made much more than a moronic stab at
same had I not been using 3.51 Server and Workstation in a production
environment. (That I was badly hung-over during the latter in no small
measure, I'm sure, contributed to this view.) Thus, my perplexity at the
frequent eruption of questions about braindumps in this group.
Are these...individuals...just blissfully unaware of the flaming failures
that await them should they take the tests after dump-consumption alone,
and thus set to get their just reward? Does anyone actually have any
degree of success, thus revealing the future of humanity is, indeed, grave?

ERROR #53
I'm studying for exam 70-215 and trying to do the
unattended install exercise. running setupmgr and when I
get to the part were the files copy form the cd to the
dist folder, I get an error #53. It tells me it can't
locate network share and then it tells me there is not
enough room in the folder. What am I doing wrong or what
am I missing? Can someone help me
P.S. the folder is shared and my network adapter on
server01 is functional. I'm trying to create the dist
folder on server01 so as to upgrade computer01 from WIN98

Anybody ever come across a web-site with global or national figures relating to the average/usual/best amount of time taken to complete MCSE certification from start to finish? Re: Global Catalog SRV Record is Missing
Dear all;
In our network, there are one DC and one DNS server. Although AD Sit
and Services -> NTDS Settings -> Global Catalog check box is checke
position, there is no SRV record for our GC in forward lookup zone i
DNS. Now i am trying to force my GC for getting SRV record but there i
no solution that i found. Please help me for any article to force my G
server to register its SRV record automatically.
Note: Dynamic Update for zone is selected.

NTFS quick format and normal format
Hi,
During installation of WinXP and Win2003, there is an option of quick
formatting and normal formatting of NTFS and FAT partition. What is the
difference aside from the speed of the formatting? Does this normal
formatting perform better than quick formatting when reading/saving files
