The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada
has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols
to stop the illegal immigration. The re-election of President Bush is
prompting the exodus among left leaning citizens who fear they'll soon
be required to hunt, and agree with Bill O'Reilly.
Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology
professors, animal rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields
at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a
Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red
Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota. The producer was cold,
exhausted and hungry. "He asked me if I could spare a latte and some
free-range. When I said I didn't have any, he left. Didn't even get a
chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"
In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected fences, but
the liberals scaled them. So he tried installing speakers that blare
Rush Limbaugh across fields. "Not real effective," he said. "The
liberals still got through, and Rush annoyed the cows so much they
wouldn't give milk."
Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet near the
Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons, drive them across
the border and leave them to fend for themselves. "A lot of these people
are not prepared for rugged conditions" an Ontario border patrolman
said. "I found one carload without a drop of drinking water. They did
have a nice little Napa Valley cabernet, though." When liberals are
caught, they're sent back across the border, wailing loudly that they
fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about
the Bush administration establishing re-education camps in which
liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR.
In the days since the election, liberals have turned to sometimes
ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have taken to posing as
senior citizens on bus trips to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs.
After catching a half-dozen young vegans disguised in powdered wigs,
Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the
supposed senior-citizen passengers. "If they can't identify the
accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we get suspicious about
their age," an official said. Canadian citizens have complained that the
illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and renting
all the good Susan Sarandon movies. "I feel sorry for American liberals,
but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident
said. ''How many art-history majors does one country need?"
In an effort to ease tensions between the United States and Canada, Vice
President Dick Cheney met with the Canadian ambassador and pledged that
the administration would take steps to reassure liberals, a source close
to Cheney said "We're going to have some Peter, Paul & Mary concerts.
And we might put some endangered species on postage stamps. The
president is determined to reach out." Tag: {OT} Yet anudda Tag: 153943

OT Wednesday Funny
A timeless lesson on how consultants can make a difference for an
organization.
Last week, we took some friends out to a new restaurant, and noticed that
the waiter who took our order carried a spoon in his shirt pocket. It seemed
a little strange. When the busboy brought our water and utensils, I noticed
he also had a spoon in his shirt pocket. Then I looked around saw that all
the staff had spoons in their pockets.
When the waiter came back to serve our soup I asked, "Why the spoon?"
"Well, "he explained, "the restaurant's owners hired Andersen Consulting
to revamp all our processes. After several months of analysis, they
concluded
that the spoon was the most frequently dropped utensil. It represents a drop
frequency of approximately 3 spoons per table per hour. If our personnel are
better
prepared, we can reduce the number of trips back to the kitchen and save 15
man-hours per shift."
As luck would have it, I dropped my spoon and he was able to replace it with
his spare.
"I'll get another spoon next time I go to the kitchen instead of making an
extra trip to get it right now."
I was impressed. I also noticed that there was a string hanging out of the
waiter's fly. Looking around, I noticed that all the waiters had the same
string hanging from their flies. So before he walked off, I asked the
waiter, "Excuse me, but can you tell me why you have that string right
there?"
"Oh, certainly!" Then he lowered his voice. "Not everyone is so observant.
That consulting firm I mentioned also found out that we can save time in the
restroom. By tying this string to the tip of you know what, we can pull it
out without touching it and eliminate the need to wash our hands, shortening
the time spent in the restroom by 76.39 percent.
I asked "After you get it out, how do you put it back?"
"Well," he whispered, "I don't know about the others, but I use the spoon." Tag: {OT} Yet anudda Tag: 153849

MCSE 20-218 question. How to specify network adapter to use when doing replication between sites?
Hi,
I know about the IP, DNS, SRV records, Dialup networking thing, RRAS, mutual
authentication. But where do you physically in windows server say, "ok when
replicating, dont go through the network card go through this dialup
connection that I have setup". Could not find anything in AD sites and
services.
The reason I'm using the infrared port (although I'll probably go through
the COM1 port on my laptop) is because its an old laptop with only pcmcia
slots, and they are already occupied. Why this strange setup? well im
studying for mcse and, also It would be nice to have a clean line just for
replication where i have a dedicated line between the laptops, totally
isolated from the rest of the network. Kinda like building my own secure
replication thingy.
Thanks for any help :) Tag: {OT} Yet anudda Tag: 153830

Self Study for the MCSE route
So I have been looking through all of the options for an MCSE and just
couldn't see the benefit of spending 14 days learning a subject that
obviously takes more than 14 days to master.
In other words I decided that I wanted to learn to be an MCSE not just to
pass an MCSE exam, because, to be honest I am working in IT and have been
for a long time. Started out as a hobby that became my career (as all the
best ones do).
Anyway now I am head of support and IT for a small software company and the
CTO says to me one day that it would be nice if we had an MCSE on the
payroll and when was I going to do it and so on...
So I am going to self study as it suits my character best (3 years as a
teacher for evening classes means I hate sitting down in a classroom).
Anyway my question is this:
Am I making a stupid mistake or has anyone else here done a similar thing to
me - i.e. pick up the syllabus and some books and the relevant software and
learned it or would I be missing large sections of my brain if I went that
way?
Your opinions would really help me out.
In the meantime I am off to play robodump in my office

domain problems with sr2 loaded on XP workstations
If anyone can offer any info to this problem it would be appreciated. I have
just recently joined about 15 XP Pro workstations with Service Pack2 on one
of my domains. Shortly after joining these systems to the domain I started
experiencing some problems that I can't resolve which I believe are related
to SR2. After logging back on to these systems with either the domain or
local admin account I cannont access several of the Admin tools, can't access
properties of the network connection(s), can't run a search on the system,
can't access these systems in My Network Places from other workstations
and/or vice/versa, and maybe some other "things" that I haven't discovered
yet. I haven't had any of these problems with other XP Pro workstations on
the domain that don't have SR2 installed on them. Also, I did disable the
firewall and I also tried stopping and disabling the firewall service.
Thanks,

Am I on the right track?
I have completed MCSE 70-290, and I am planning to finish these specific
tests in the following order:
70-291
70-270
70-284
70-293
70-294
Can anybody tell me if by completing all these tests I will be able to
obtain the MCSE certificate? I just want to make sure so I won't take the
wrong tests.
I also want to verify how Microsoft keep track of my academy goal. I know I
have a Microsoft transcript, but I am not sure how Microsoft determine when
to issue my certificates. As you see from the above tests list, if I take
the tests in such order, I am going to qualify for a MCSA first, then after I
pass the last two tests I will get MCSE. Is it right that after I pass
70-284, my Microsoft will automaticall send me a congulation email telling I
have obtained MCSA certificate? More specifically, do I need to declare to
Microsoft right now that I am planning on MCSA or MCSE? (just like I did in
school to declare my major).

MCSE or Specialised MCSE
Hi. I am just about to sit my last few MCSE 2000 exams and am undecided

I also want to sit the upgrade exams to complete upgrade to an MCSE 2003.
