    - OT: GO OILERS GO Again I say, go Oilers go... For those of you who haven't been paying attention...the Oilers finnished in 8th spot this regular season. Knocked off the #1 team in the league (detroit red wings) and continued to beat the sharks, and the ducks. Then they lost their starting goalie in game 1 against the carolina huricanes....came up with a big loss that night and lost game 2... 5-0. Finnally won a game, but then went on to lose the next game...making it a 3-1 series lead for the canes ( best of 7). Hurricanes then lost in overtime, to make it a 3-2 lead for the canes, then the oilers beat them 4-0...the series is now tied at 3. Whoever wins tonight, gets the cup! An 8th place team has never made it to the finals...a team being down 3 games to 1, has only ever won the cup once... And to top it off, The oilers have the best fans in the league. After the Canadian anthem was boohed in the states by american fans ( stupid americans didn't realize most of their team is Canadian) The game came back to Edmonton, and the fans hear SANG and cheered for the american anthem... Here it goes: By default DHCP performs dynamic update of A resource record for post 2000 clients. Now, a pre 2000 client is upgraded to, say, xp...For DHCP to continue perform update of the A record the DHCP must be added to the DnsUpdateProxy group because this group don't record ownership for the records, thus for DHCP in this group, there won't be serure update of the A. It is therefore not wise to let DHCP and D.Controller resides on one box because then, records use by the netlogon service would be unsecure now...please correct me i'm wrong. Ques: From a security perspective, can it be consider safe to let both DHCP & D.Controller resides the the same box if you don't need to support pre-2000 clients? Thanks in advance.     - Frigging Power Management Yesterday I spent a few hours installing XP on a laptop and set about down loading all the patches and drivers I needed. On the second partition of the machine I intended to stick a Linux distro and so set about downloading the DVD ISO for Fedora Core 5. Now knowing this would take an hour or so, I figured I'd step out for a bite to eat with my good lady. On return from a lovely meal, I went to check that the download was complete, only to find the machine had powered down into standby. MOTHERFU=80K=A3R %#@$ $*#=A3" #& &^* =A3$#$$ =A3&*^ Even although the user is not there moving the mouse or typing stuff in; Why the hell is XP's power management not aware of the fact, the network card and hard drive are going ballistic? I HATE power management. NEVER turn off my hard drive. I will turn of my computer when I am 60D-D@M good and ready! Actually, I hate all-things automagic. I hate autostart applications, if I want an application to launch; I will launch it. But seriously, Microsoft should really review the power management stuff. I hope vista fixed this. But I get the impression that it is even *more* automagic. I'm yet to find out, because I don't have a MSDN subscription, nobody invited me, and I don't believe in pirates.     - Free Busy Issues Hello: Having issues with free busy time and calendaring. We are right now in the middle of migrating from 5.5 to 2003. Users on the 5.5 server are having sporadic issue seeing others free/busy time. On the 2003 server, this feature is not working at all in OWA. If I look at the system folders in Exchange System Manager, I can see the free busy folder which it says is home on the 5.5 server. No replication status is listed which I assume is the problem. I had thought the Public folders were migrated over which is apparently not the case since they are still homed on the 5.5 box.....is this a correct assumption?     - MCDST starting on MCSE Hey guys. Got a question. I have my 70-270 test scheduled for the end of June. In the past month and a half I've passed both 70-271 & 70-271 with scores over 900 on both. I guess I'm just wondering how different the 270 test is from the 271. I'm not looking for specifics or anything, but I'm getting a bit tired of studying the XP stuff and just wondered how much time I really need to invest in studying for 270 while I still have the 271 & 272 fresh in my mind.     - Which test should I take first, Im thiking 70-270 WinXP OS exam. Right now I am studying for my CCNA and will be done with that soon. I want to go the MCSE route, however, I don't know where I should start. I am thinking of 70-270 as the book that I have from the Official MS press has that 120 day evalution copy that I can install on a new drive and completely tinker with it without worry of destroying my current installation. I guess my reasoning is that I've been working with a Windows OS for well over a decade now in the computer repair work that I have done in the past, I know XP pretty well, so for some reason it makes a logical sense that I should do the OS exam first. But... On my exam report is a following "Candidates eligible for an MCP Welocme Kit will receive an e-mail notification requring cerification of shipping information...." and and that must happend within seven bussines days.
