Hi all,
i'm preparing myself for the 70-292 exam. (wish me luck!).
I have some question about the material. In the Self-paced Training Kit
stands (13-41):
Performing a system state backup automatically forces the backup type to
Copy, although the interface might not indicate that fact. Take that fact
into consideration when planning whether to include other items in your
backup selection.

In one of the answers (Question 11, not randomized), in the recorvery
section : stands: "a differential backup with system state!"
It's a good answer because the Job will be a copy instead of differential so
the files in the intended goals are backed up.

But my question is, am i right?

Thanks,

Dennis.

I believe that System State backups are a copy type backup in that they do
not reset the archive bit. I never saw a question relating to that in
70-292/70-296. What was important is knowing when to use a System State
backup, what it does backup, and how to use it to restore a domain
controller. For backups know the difference in
full/incremental/differential/copy. When in doubt often the best way to
resolve a question is to test it out yourself and to search TechNet for
articles and white papers on the subject. I found it best to prepare for
70-292 AND 70-296 before taking the 70-292 exam. You are going to have to do
it anyway. You are more likely to see questions on complex trust and dns
scenarios than on backup type for System State. I found the info below
helpful.--- Steve
