Hi guys,

I just installed the new XP Service Pack 2 RC1 and it
messed with how Internet Explorer handles Bit Torrent
files. For those of you who don't have it, Bit Torrent is
a combination file sharing program and download manager.
Files are posted on websites with a .torrent extention,
which I assume amount to instructions for the Bit Torrent
download app. When clicked, the files used to download
and run, causing the download app to run, but now that I
installed SP2, IE attempts to open the file and display
it as if it were opened in Notepad, displaying a bunch of
text and gibberish. Funny thing is, if I choose to save
the .torrent file on my Desktop and double click it
there, the program runs normally. Does anybody know if
there is anything I can do to stop IE from trying to
display the files code and have it just run the stuff
normally? Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,
Chris L.

Try reinstalling the BitTorrent software and see if that fixes it. It works
for me and I installed BitTorrent after SP2 RC1
