I attended training for my MCSE and other certs at a place called Current
Technologies in Portage, IN. The owner, Alan Gardner routinely copies test
king or Troy Techs and passes them out as "test prep tools". Hey, these
are the answers to the exam, how common is this really at a training center
that is supposedly certified my MS?

You might want to send this guy's name, and any other pertinent info, off to
microsoft. Try tctips@microsoft.com. And, just to make the point clear,
mcphelp@microsoft.com. Chances are they wont' do anything, but the penalty
for this is supposedly pulling all his certs. Do the right thing. Rid the
industry of cheaters.

Joe, assuming you're not trolling, and assuming you're not a disgruntled
student, I've gone ahead and forwarded this to tctips@microsoft.com I don't
know how common this is, but I, for one, appreciate you're bringing this to

The question here is one of math and morality.

Cheating on these exams is probably as common as cheating on spouses,
cheating on taxes, and running stop signs when you're in a hurry to get to
work. I suspect it's a common enough 'problem', certainly common enough that
people here are aware of it and frequently comment on how wrong it is. I
also suspect that the ratio of 'good to bad' in the testing issue is likely
the same ratio of 'good to bad' in marriages, puppies, and unborn fetuses.

In this instance, the owner may be:

A. Evil - purposely encouraging people to cheat because there's some bonus
that he gets if more people pass at his training facility.
B. Stupid - legitimately believes that these copies of documents are helpful
and is trying to help people who need work to obtain their certifications.
C. Agnostic - Just doesn't give a carp and does this because it's something
to do, or something Alan is genetically predispositioned to do based .
D. Neither A or B. You can figure out on your own how a person can not be
evil and not be stupid.
E. Both A and B. Legitimately believes the copies of the answers are
helpful, and is pleased that by helping people, he gets his bonus.
F. C, again, just because I don't think a person can be a combination of
evil, stupid, and/or agnostic.

Of course, there's also the alternative, which is to consider the
possibility that 'Joe P.' is evil or stupid, and I believe 'that one guy
called Frisbee' touched on this, that 'Joe P.' might have failed tests or
not received his 'money's worth', and so 'Joe P' is attempting to point a
finger at Alan for something that possibly isn't being done. The evidence
here comes from 'Hey, here's a guy's first and last name, and I charge him
publicly with wrongdoing, but offer no information about myself, or proof
whatsoever.'

Overall, both of these practices, cheating and finking, devalue the MCSE and
other related Microsoft certifications, so, whee, I'm too tired to type
anymore, you figure out what it means when I say it devalues the MCSE and
other related Microsoft certifications.

That will be precisely .001 picoseconds after NEVER, the reason being,
Microsoft makes money whether you pass or not, and they make money whether
you cheat or not.

In fact, they probably make more money IF people cheat, because on a graph
somewhere it will show that more people are passing the test, and there's a
greater success rate, and that the industry is better because more people
have certs and the computers work better, and it's because of Microsoft, a
company whose employees have been known to kill puppies.

Microsoft would LOSE money if they were to make a lot of noise about
cheating on the tests and their 'initiatives to prevent this'. They would
LOSE money if they spent time and resources trying to track down cheaters.
And they would LOSE money if they didn't cuddle with snuffleufugus on
Wednesday, which, incidentally, I just spelled correctly, although I'm
confused about the spelling of snuffleufugus, and this message has nothing
to do with Neil.

My advice to those who have the opportunity to cheat is, if you want to
cheat, cheat. Don't get caught, don't tell everyone you cheated, don't narc
out the people who helped you cheat, and don't help other people cheat.
Also, don't cheat. And, don't give people advice telling them it's ok to
cheat. And, after you cheat, if you get caught, don't complain about how
everyone got on your back about cheating, you filthy cheating complaining
narc what cheats and helps other people cheat and refuses to help when
people need help cheating. I mean, sheesh, if you're going to cheat, do it
with some class, already. Sheesh, sheesh, and sheesh again.

And while we're on the subject of Neil, well, dammit, what has Neil ever
done to deserve all of this attention? Where was Neil when the Monguls ruled
China with an Iron Fist? Why hasn't Neil contributed his immense knowledge
to the scientific community? Why hasn't Neil done his part to end
homelessness? What is NEIL doing to fight the coming pandemic of asian bird
flu? When will people finally hold Neil responsible for all of the problems
he has caused due to his lethargy and sloth? When will we see the charts and
graphs of Neil's underwhelming performance in all of the feature films he's
appeared in yet received countless undeserved awards and adulations for?
Where can we find information on Neil's previously undisclosed participation
on the trilateral commission? When can we expect Neil to get off his
Canadian Keyster and deliver on the promise of free love and sandwiches for
people in Oklahoma that have to pay for love and sandwiches? What happens
when Neil decides that it's his turn to take up the torch and start
spreading the word about Neil? We're tired of ranting about Neil when Neil
never rants about himself. Come on, Neil, it's time to do something,
already. IT'S YOUR TURN, NEIL. IT'S TIME TO DO YOUR PART. BE A MAN. DO YOUR
FAIR SHARE. STAND UP AND CLEAN YOURSELF OFF -- BECAUSE, NEIL, IT'S ABOUT
TIME YOU DID SOMETHING WITH YOUR LIFE. ACHIEVE THE GREATNESS YOU WERE MEANT
TO ACHIEVE BEFORE THE WHOLE PLACE EXPLODES AND THE END IS NEARLY OVERRATED.

We're all counting on you.

Careful going out drinking with CBIC, you may wake up 3 days later in a
Mexican jail with no memory of how you got there.

We went one day about a month ago (ha ha ha) to have a little fun (ah ha) in
Mexico.
We ended up in a gambling spot (ha ha ha) where the liquor flowed and the
dice were hot.

Chorus:
So, here we are in the Tijuana jail. Ain't got no friends to go our bail.
So, here we'll stay 'cause we can't pay. Just send our mail to the Tijuana
jail.

I was shooting dice, raking in the dough (long green) and then I heard a
whistle blow.
We started to run when a man in blue said, "Senor, come with me 'cause I
want you."

(Chorus)

Just five hundred dollars and they'll set us free. I couldn't raise a penny
if they threatened me.
I know five hundred don't sound like much (cheap), but just try to find
somebody to touch.

actually, the official MCNGP tattoo should be located just a few inches
above the bum.
