in the near future.

street from me. the fuggin' guy has a bigger house, better car than me and
walks around in dirty overall's and car grease all over himself, from head to

Maybe between this an Gateway closing all of their stores (3000 jobs cut)
congress will finally start extending unemployment benefits again.

I would assume 'broad-based cost-cutting plan' means that most of the
jobs will be middle management & admin type jobs. Nevertheless, it's
bad news for those people affected.

Duuno how it is in Canada, but when the U.S. housing bubble bursts those
guys will be in a world of hurt as well. The only safe ones will be the
guys who do the $100,000 all-stainless-and-granite kitchens that get used

I agree with Greenspan. Switch to a ARM. The rates are at their lowest,
if you switch to an ARM you get an even better rate. With the rates so low,
they aren't going to take off any time soon so economically it makes sense.
You will save a lot of money.

the problem is that everyone assumes that they are techincal jobs. i would
guess manufacturing and middle management, as well as phone support.
besides, even if they were technical, these would be people into unix,
linux, etc, not mcse's, so don't get yer panties all bunched up.

And for the record, it makes me think of kat in the same old light. ;)
