 - MCSE people requesting your assistance please assist After receiving an illegal operation error a pc technician formatted i the past my pc HP BRIO BA410 Win 98se and he installed his own win 98s since then I am constantly facing problems. When I input a cd or flopp it stacks and explorer is not responding and as a result i reset th pc. He made defragment last Sunday telling me that problem will b fixed. The windows are not working properly because the system stacks I don't know what else he touched from software he removed some tick from msconfig Startup tab. The result is a hanging screen during shu down procedure and the Microsoft Windows 98 screen is shutting down i not shown. I downloaded the shutdown patch of Microsoft but stil nothing I ran Norton Live Update still nothing. Any suggestions please how can I fix this hanging screen and how t bring up Microsoft?s shutting down screen? he modified also powe management in control panel. any relation for shutting down problem? regarding power management. i don't remember what were the origina settings i selected these system stand by: 25 min turn off monitor: 20 min turn off hard disk: 30 min Any instructions how to recover those who were before modification? BUT There can be only one enterprise root in any given hierarchy." I'm lost in the difference between the terms domain and hierarchy, (in relation to CA's) Please can you give me an example of both?  - Question Re: WIN2K Server Resource Kit Does anybody know if the Windows 2000 Server Resource Kit Supplement 1 includes everything that is on the plain old Resource Kit? Or is it something that needs to be purchased in addition to Resource Kit in order to get the all the old tools and new tools.  - How to Identify a Braindump Site Okay, I've looked a lot of MCSE sample test sites. Some I know are braindump sites, because people have warned against them here. Some are recommended by Microsoft, so I assume they are okay. Then there's the ones in between. How does a person looking for sample exams know if they are supporting a braindump site or not? I'll start with the two I've thought of so far: - No phone number and only a PO box for an address. - Appears as US-based business, but website has a foreign registration.  - End of MCSE on Win2k I recently was told that microsoft was going to do away with the mcse on windows 2000 by the end of the year. Is this true? Does anybody know when the cutoff for getting the mcse on win2k is? I hope this is not true because I only have 2 more exams to complete to be certified mcse.  - Norton Disk Doctor Does anybody know where to find Norton Disk Doctor? Someone hacked our webserver and we've been told by Dell that the only way to remove them is to reformat the drive which really isn't an option right now. Can't take ownership of the files, can't delete them. Someone recommended Norton Disk Doctor to me, but when I look for it on the Symantec site, it only shows up under Mac products which doesn't apply here. Any thoughts?  - Exam 70-270 failed Dear all, I work hard this last 6 monthe to studdy all chapter of the MCSE training Kit of windows Xp professionnal, I have done many times the embeded test simulation at 98%. I was then sad to see that I have failed the exam with the score of 650 and mark was 700 so really close to get it. UI jhave notice that a lot of question was not even discuss in the trianing Kit and was surprise to get them and a lot of question around, networking, VPN and security and I guest that questions range point was high... I will plann to pass it again soon, can I get some advise from you and to approach best this second stage?  - My Doc's redirect syntax I am trying to redirect the My Documents folder to a network share. Currently we have the users profiles mapped to their H: drive. I would like to have the my documents redirected to H:\My Documents but I am having trouble with the syntax. In the GPO what should my syntax be?
