Hi,

I am doing my MCSE. Would like to know the type of questions that will come
in the Windows XP and Server 2003

Siddharth:

Most of the questions you will find to be multiple choice.
Some of these questions will be "Choose two" or "Choose three" or "Choose
all that apply."

A few questions will be where you choose items from a list and then order
them, such as steps in a process, with some of the items on the list possibly
not being used.

There may also be a couple of simulation questions, where you have to click
on the correct place on a form or dialog box, for example. If you get one of
these, you will need to pray that your computer can handle it (sometimes this
has been a problem at Prometric, but never for me at Pearson Vue).

I don't know if I can give you more specific information without risking
violating the non-disclosure agreement.

Hope that helps -- good luck on your certification exams.

Larry's answer is spot on here. Really its the same standard as the rest of
the 2003 exams. I would point you towards my own blog entry on preparing for
an exam for those who have never sat an MCP exam before:

http://blog.avanadeadvisor.com/blogs/waynea/archive/2006/11/15/631.aspx

I specifically cover the types of Q&A.

By the way, with the particular core exams that form the very basis of the
windows server 2003 environment (XP, Server 2003), there are a number of
simulations which will be presented in your exams. With the move to
prometric, I look forward to the exam format taking on more of these
practical applications of the product environment to certify a candidate on
more than just thier ability to choose an option out of a list.

That's funny. I look forward to the day MS wakes up and goes back to VUE.
In the meantime, look forward to computers that before, during, and right
at the end of exams; being unable to find a testing center near enough to
drive to; a stupid and frustrating experience with the website; poor
customer service.
