Hi and thank you for any input you may be able to give.

I have taken the 270, 290 and will be taking the 291 next week. Now here is
my dilemma. I'm not sure where to go from there. From my point of view, I
think it would be beneficial to take the 299 next. That would then give me my
MCSA and is also a requirement for my MCSE. From there, I would take the 298,
followed by the 293 and then 294 for my MCSE certification. And later I could
either 227 or Comptia's Sec + for my + Security designation.

From the posts I have read, most people take them in numerical order.
Unless I'm missing something, I think my plan above would be better suited,
in that you receive your MCSA after your 4th exam, rather than at the same
time as your MCSE, if you went in numerical order.

Am I missing something here? Any commends or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Mognar

there is absolutely no reason to do them in numerical order. If you take
them in numerical order, fine, but it's not required. You should do the
exams in the order you are prepared for them. If you wish to prepare for
299 before 298, feel free. And don't let the recommendations of order
given by others dicate what you should do. If you feel comfortable that
you will pass "70-XXX" first, do that one.

Good luck

People who take them in numerical order, for no reason other than to take
them in numerical order, are stupid. You should take the tests when you feel
you are ready to pass them. Microsoft has no specified order. If you can
manipulate the order you take them to your advantage, why not do that? I
fully suggest going for your MCSA now, not later, assuming that you are
equally ready for all the exams. If you're not ready for any of them, then I
suggest you start studying for 70-299, as it will reward you both in the
short term (you get your MCSA) and the long term (it's still a requirement
for MCSE). None of the other exams can do that for you, except for the
Security+ exam.

So, bottom line is take whichever exam you feel you are ready for, or
barring that, take the one that will reward you most if you pass.

Plus if you choose for whatever reason to take both 70-299 and Security+ (if
you take 298 for your design test and not 297) then you get a couple bonus
certifications. Other then the obvious Security+ you pick up 2 Microsoft
Security Certifications one for the MCSA and one for the MCSE.
