    - l2tp ipsec error 791 hello i ve installed a windows 2000 server (there's only one network card). I ve done : l2tp with pre-shared key (security ip) i ve opened on the router : udp 4500 ; udp 500 and udp 1701 when i try to connect with a lan client (xp pro sp2), it works good ! But at home XP SP2, i ve the following error (791): The L2TP connection attempt failed because security policy for the connection was not found. i ve put this key in my regedit : AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule (2) reboot , i ve got the same error 791 Help me please.     - MSCE Training Providers Hello, I am based in the UK and have worked in the IT industry for 15 years primarily in a Microsoft environment. I have a vast array of experience in many different areas but since I finished my last contract 3 months ago I have found it very difficult to get a job. Most of the jobs I am seeing advertised are requesting some form of professional certificate, which I don't, so I fear I am not even making it through the vetting process of the recruiters. So I have been looking around and seriously thinking about settling into a career path, preferably in a training capacity. I started to look at the MCT certificate since the last couple of contracts I have done have been in a training role and it is a role I enjoy. I am planning on doing an MCSE, Microsoft Office Master and then applying for my MCT so I signed up today with a training provider called SkillsTrain (here in the UK) who are associated with Scheidegger. I was wondering if anyone has any information on this provider or whether anyone knows if there is someone I can contact at Microsoft UK, who could conirm whether or not this company are legitimate and a recognised microsoft training provider. I do have the AskPartner hotline number for Microsoft here in the UK as published on the back of the Microsoft Partner (Summer 2006) magazine but I was wondering if anyone knows of a more suitable number/contact?     - Consulting gig I've always been a full-time employee during my existance in IT. Well, I have an opportunity for a Consulting gig that looks attractive on the surface. What are the pros and cons of consulting compared to full-time.     - OT: GO OILERS GO Again I say, go Oilers go... For those of you who haven't been paying attention...the Oilers finnished in 8th spot this regular season. Knocked off the #1 team in the league (detroit red wings) and continued to beat the sharks, and the ducks. Then they lost their starting goalie in game 1 against the carolina huricanes....came up with a big loss that night and lost game 2... 5-0. Finnally won a game, but then went on to lose the next game...making it a 3-1 series lead for the canes ( best of 7). Hurricanes then lost in overtime, to make it a 3-2 lead for the canes, then the oilers beat them 4-0...the series is now tied at 3. Whoever wins tonight, gets the cup! An 8th place team has never made it to the finals...a team being down 3 games to 1, has only ever won the cup once... And to top it off, The oilers have the best fans in the league. After the Canadian anthem was boohed in the states by american fans ( stupid americans didn't realize most of their team is Canadian) The game came back to Edmonton, and the fans hear SANG and cheered for the american anthem... Here it goes: By default DHCP performs dynamic update of A resource record for post 2000 clients. Now, a pre 2000 client is upgraded to, say, xp...For DHCP to continue perform update of the A record the DHCP must be added to the DnsUpdateProxy group because this group don't record ownership for the records, thus for DHCP in this group, there won't be serure update of the A. It is therefore not wise to let DHCP and D.Controller resides on one box because then, records use by the netlogon service would be unsecure now...please correct me i'm wrong. Ques: From a security perspective, can it be consider safe to let both DHCP & D.Controller resides the the same box if you don't need to support pre-2000 clients? Thanks in advance.     - Frigging Power Management Yesterday I spent a few hours installing XP on a laptop and set about down loading all the patches and drivers I needed. On the second partition of the machine I intended to stick a Linux distro and so set about downloading the DVD ISO for Fedora Core 5. Now knowing this would take an hour or so, I figured I'd step out for a bite to eat with my good lady. On return from a lovely meal, I went to check that the download was complete, only to find the machine had powered down into standby. MOTHERFU=80K=A3R %#@$ $*#=A3" #& &^* =A3$#$$ =A3&*^ Even although the user is not there moving the mouse or typing stuff in; Why the hell is XP's power management not aware of the fact, the network card and hard drive are going ballistic? I HATE power management. NEVER turn off my hard drive. I will turn of my computer when I am 60D-D@M good and ready! Actually, I hate all-things automagic. I hate autostart applications, if I want an application to launch; I will launch it. But seriously, Microsoft should really review the power management stuff. I hope vista fixed this. But I get the impression that it is even *more* automagic. I'm yet to find out, because I don't have a MSDN subscription, nobody invited me, and I don't believe in pirates.     - Free Busy Issues Hello: Having issues with free busy time and calendaring. We are right now in the middle of migrating from 5.5 to 2003. Users on the 5.5 server are having sporadic issue seeing others free/busy time. On the 2003 server, this feature is not working at all in OWA. If I look at the system folders in Exchange System Manager, I can see the free busy folder which it says is home on the 5.5 server. No replication status is listed which I assume is the problem. I had thought the Public folders were migrated over which is apparently not the case since they are still homed on the 5.5 box.....is this a correct assumption?
