I see resumes all the time - most a somewhere between ok and really bad.
I thought I would pass this resume from a Google UI designer.

I found it while reading his blog this morning.

http://fury.com/resume/resume_kevin_fox.pdf

Why is it good?
- It is simple and elegant. The text is visually balanced and he makes
use of two frames for different information: employment history and
enabling skills. Paragraphs are about the same size, and the use of bold
and fonts is very nice.
- Employment history has a nice balance of what he did and what he
accomplished.
- Writing style is easy-to-read (very little technical jargon) and
focuses the reader's attention on key words/phrases to inspire
confidence.

Oh yeah - it is one page!

If I were to interview him, he has given me a lot of things to ask about
while at the same time has given me a pretty good indication of what I
could expect of him as an employee.

Well Done.

Yeah, but the guy like *cheese*. Who the heck would hire someone like that?

It's beautiful but it doesn't look like it has been updated in a long
while. Major kudos for being able to get it to one page though.

I agree that it's an eye-catching resume. Only thing is that, to me, this
seems to be a guy to whom a resume is merely an accessory, a fashion item if
you will. This is someone who does not *need* a resume to get a job.

If I had his experience, my resume would look like that too. Understatedly
arrogant, I think I would call it.

Actually, replace eye-catching with outstanding. My first reaction was a
little hasty.

Putting myself in the place of the recruiter, I would definitely be asking
this guy for an interview. This has made me think a little harder about how
my resume comes across...

It is a really good resume. You can tell this guy is a web designer.
However, I agree that the comment about cheese is a little weird.

Strange no one caught the comment about the cheese yet. Unless I am wrong
it means he has no problem changing jobs/tasks/traveling. If you follow all
the pseudo-zen books this would be a reference to "Who moved my cheese" by
Spencer Johnson M.D. one the the required reading books in large
organizations.
Try checking Amazon ... uh maybe here

Considering his stated background it is probably on his bookshelf somewhere.
Cute book actually, Dr. Zeuss for adults.
