Embedded PDF's in Word

Hello, not sure if anyone can help me but we have an RFP
set up in word with embedded PDF files throughout the
document. We need to convert the entire document to a
PDF and still keep the embedded pdf's active. Right now
everytime i convert to PDF the icons just become images
and don't open any new documents. Is there a solution
out there.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but here's my common-
sense take on this.

It may be a bit simplistic, but basically a pdf is an
image. A picture. Maybe it's smarter than that, but it's
a picture.

Making the whole thing a picture means you wouldn't have
any hpyerlink/drill-down capability. Why do you expect
any capability like that?
