Ive been looking into purchasing some data recovery software. Occasionally i
get some CF chips back that had the "data lost". I have found many
applications online, most look like total B.S. Anyone have experience using
anything??

TIA

I've never had data loss on a flash card but it shouldn't be much
different from any other lost data. Here's a few free data recovery
tools you might want to try out before you buy something:

Active Undelete is what I use on an image after I image a suspect disk and
want to get a quick first level of recovery done using common tools.

Works like a dream and very affordable.

I have used PC Inspector File Recovery http://www.pcinspector.de/ with a
good amount of success.

Thanks,

I will take a look at the suggestions and let you know what i find. The data
on these cards are quite important. I work for a cardiac monitoring facility
and our holter monitors use the flash cards to store the patients EKG
rhythms. Once the test is done the chip is sent via next day air back to our
lab.
This is the first time we have had a data loss but im sure it will not be
the last.

Thanks again for the help

Vincent,

Whatever you do, DO NOT operate against the cards themselves. Use a disk
imaging tool to get a copy of it and only then proceed with the tools.
