Hi all,

I registered to attend an MCSE/MCSA Boot Camp with a company named Ambilogic
in North Conway, NH. I paid via check in December for the session which was
scheduled to begin March 1st. In January, I accepted a new position which no
longer requires that I acquire these certifications. I called and emailed
Ambilogic on January 26th to notify them of my need to cancel, and request
the almost full refund which they promised if notice of cancellation was
over 30 days from the start of the session (which this was).

To make a long story short, this company has not responded at all. I leave
messages which are not returned, and emails which are not answered. It's now
been 10 days, and I'm starting to get a very bad feeling.

Has anyone else had any experience with this company that they can relate?
Or, can anyone suggest how I should proceed from here?

Thanks...Mark

Mark,

Take a day off and drive to their offices, and ask for your money back or
see if you can take the boot camp at a later date.

Don't give up,

Jose

Ambilogic Boot Camp by anonymous

Hi! I thought I should reply to this when I saw it- I'm
an instructor for Ambilogic, and we're running a class in
North Conway right now. One of the students came across
this looking up information for one of the tests. The
owner of the company is currently teaching in San
Francisco, and the company has been extremely busy
(myself included) preparing 2003 materials. I will
forward this to the owner, and you will hear from him
soon. It is a good company, but small. I attended a
bootcamp with Ambilogic and really enjoyed it, and now I
work for them.

Regards,

Christian

Mr. Gifaldi,

I found your posting on this website after several of my student
emailed it to me. Additionally I found it on several search engines.
My advice to you is to have it removed immediately. All postings t
this subject have been copied and will be forwarded to our legal team.

What you have left out of your posting is the fact that you understoo
the refund policy when you first contacted AmbiLogic. You proved thi
by enclosing a copy of it in a letter sent to Ambilogic on February 9
I advised you to contact our bookkeeper if you had any other questions
I also advised you that you had the option to move to anothe
scheduled class. Instead, you chose to send AmbiLogic a registere
letter requesting a cancellation. In your letter you enclosed a cop
of our refund policy. This letter was received on February 9, 2004.
You were scheduled to attend on March 1, 2004. As clearly stated o
our web site, cancellations must be received in writing, which you did
thank you. However any cancellations less that 30 days prior to clas
will not receive any refunds. This is due to costs already incurre
such as exams, courseware, pre-study guides, accommodations etc.

For all those who have attending our courses, they are aware that w
are a very fair company and have enjoyed their experience with us. Yo
still have the option of attending another date with us.

Oh hey look! A cartoony, right here on mpcemcse!

What you seem to have left out is that he did contact you over 30 days
prior. Jan 26th, to be exact! Both by phone and e-mail. If this is true,
and I'm sure he's got a copy in his 'sent' folder, you owe him a refund
and an apology. E-mail does indeed, to these weary eyes, vaguely
resemble 'writing'. Although, to be sure IANAL.

When was this? On Jan 26th perhaps? 11 days prior to your cancellation
deadline?

Instead, you chose to send AmbiLogic a registered
> letter requesting a cancellation. In your letter you enclosed a copy

I can see why he enclosed a copy, it appears you are the one who was
ignorant of its contents.

This letter was received on February 9, 2004.

I'm sure those 'costs' are onerous indeed, as there is no way that these
materials would be used by another student. </sarcasm> They are custom
made for each individual, right? Pfaugh!

I notice that the OP also noted that you only refund 'almost' all of the
money even if notice is given in what you consider a timely manner. What
'costs' does this cover?

Yes, I'm sure that after reading your threatening post to the OP, you
will have hoards of new students calling you. Very professional indeed!
Well done.

Is it me or does examnotes.net appear to be a br@indump
website. Also isn't kind of interesting that Ambilogic replied
through that site rather than taking the time to come to
the actual usenet location.

Yeah and I will bring a special batch of brownies.

What a tard. Lack of professionalism indeed. Basically this is jus
another company out to sucker-punch people trying to grow in the I
field. Also, who's to doubt that this is how they treat those who ar
unemployed and desperately trying to up theire chances of finding
decent job by obtaining certifications.

Hi All,

Since January 26th, the day I notified AmbiLogic of my need to cancel out of
the boot camp, I have been waiting for a response. In this 3 plus weeks time
frame, they have not responded to repeated telephone calls, emails, and even
certified mail.

Then today I'm browsing mpcemcse, and there it is.my response.addressed to
me by name! I must admit, posting in Usenet is a unique approach to
customer service.

I won't even comment on the content of this post, but at least I got my
answer: No Refund.

It's time to move on to Phase 2.

Stay tuned.
