I keep getting an Access is Denied file may already be in use error
everytime I try to copy a file from my workstation to my home drive on a
2003 Server. I have full control on the folder and I'm an admin. I'm new
to 2003. This started to happen right after I did the install. Anybody have
any ideas?

Thanks,
Jim

The odd thing is, after resetting the permissions (NTFS - the folder is not
shared), I can now write and edit using a short via the C$ share on the
server but not through the mapped drive or the redirected "My Documents".
This is my home folder only. Every other folder that I have tried works
fine. I have no group policies set up other than the default Domain GPO.

What are the permissions on the folder in question? Specifically?

Are you THE Laura A. Robinson? The one who used the "Godfather" approach of
explaining the OSI model? If so I have two questions:
1. Where have you been?
2. Where have you been we've been worried sick about you?

I am.

I may have two answers.

Could you give me a date range with which to work? Given that I've
neither read nor posted to any newsgroups in years (literally),
there's a plethora of answers I could give you depending upon the
level of detail you prefer. Also, are you asking about geography,
employment or state of mind?

Geography is the easy one. I'm still in New York City.

> 2. Where have you been we've been worried sick about you?

Well, except for JaR, that is, who I today discovered was as recently
as two months ago still misquoting me and speculating about my
menstrual cycle. I don't know whether to feel flattered or nauseated.
I mean, seriously, man, get over it. Years, man...YEARS.

As far as the rest of you being worried sick, that is terribly sweet.
Odd, perhaps, but at least you folks are consistent. That's a long
time to worry, however.

Any other questions?

I'm delighted that you have returned. Planning on hanging around? You are
the reason I didn't keep my first name as an sn, as we share a common first
name and wondered if you would once again post here. I can see by your reply
that you may have had better things to do. That said, I would be grateful if
you would continue posting here as I have often felt like Wendy in
Neverland, ( a description Lnkwizard2 used). I think we have to make
allowances for JaR, he can't possibly begin to understand a natural
phenomenon he is unlikely to experience first hand.

Honestly, I have no idea. I have little spare time, so I guess if I

That's actually really cool to know. I guess I'll have to try to give

I have mafia analogies for most computer stuff. Kerberos is way more
fun than the OSI model, though, 'cause you get to do multiple
families if you start talking about trust relationships.

Nothing to get over. If you actually read the thread you refer to, there
