70-290

Hi Everyone

Just started Microsoft Cert. and passed 70-270. Am planning on taking the
70-290 next (maybe during 1st or 2nd week of Oct). Can anyone point me to
some resources or clues on how to go along for this one. Specially the
simulations....

The best way to be ready for simulations is to have a practice system and
do everything you're being tested on.

If you want to see what the simulations look like there is a sample one on
the Microsoft site. I found that the simulations are pretty good. I had no
problems with them crashing as some have.

The biggest thing that threw me with the sims is that they dont quite behave
in the same way as the actual os. They look pretty much the same but the
default behaviour is slightly different. Takes a little getting used to.

Bottom line is that if you know how to carry out a task you will be fine
with the simulation.

70-290 is the only one I have so far and after seeing the study
material for 70-270, you should take the exam soon since they are very
similar. I'd say about 25-50% alike because of all the OS, backup and
file sharing/security questions.
I studied only the Microsoft Press study guide and had a lab for the
exercises.

For practice tests I used Transcenders and the practice exams that came
with the book. Both were good.
