See if Road Runner really cares that i copied and pasted someones resume,
that of course the user had a link to his page, well that could be spamming
from him, so whatever.
You and the rest of the MCNGP will just have live with the fact that I don't
like them or anyone else who wants to be with the MCNGP.
Here this should be cleary for you.
http://help.rr.com/HMSFaqs/e_newsgroups_policy.aspx
http://help.rr.com/HMSFaqs/e_rr_aup.aspx
This document outlines Road Runner acceptable use guidelines as they apply
to newsgroups. It outlines the conduct that should be employed when using
the newsgroups as well as procedures that Road Runner members can use to
avoid newsgroup abuses. It also gives pointers to other resources available
to learn more about newsgroup culture.
Guidelines
It is important for members to make themselves aware of the various
conventions, guidelines and local culture in newsgroups before becoming an
active participant.
Newsgroup Terms of Service Violations
The following actions would violate the acceptable use policy when utilizing
news services through the Road Runner network, backbone and/or
infrastructure.
Road Runner provides an uncensored newsfeed. As such, Road Runner does not
control the content of the newsgroups available to you. Road Runner believes
that decisions about which newsgroups and messages to read are best left to
its customers. Screening software is available from third parties, and it is
your responsibility to use such tools if desired. Road Runner is not
responsible for the content of any newsgroup message, whether or not a Road
Runner customer posted the message.
If newsgroup postings are in violation of the acceptable use policy, Road
Runner at times may restrict or cancel subsequent postings if they affect
the service.
The sending of multiple similar articles to newsgroups constitutes a
violation.
Harassing others by "news-bombing". "News bombing" constitutes sending more
than 10 MB of data to a newsgroup.
The cross-posting of advertisements for products, items, or services which
exceeds the commonly held thresholds and guidelines of the USENET community,
will not be tolerated. Article posts should be on-topic to the particular
newsgroup charter. Articles should not disrupt any newsgroup with frivolous,
excessively vulgar or repetitious postings is not allowed.
Road Runner filters newsgroups for spam based upon commonly accepted
Internet criteria, a copy of which can be found at
http://www.killfile.org/~tskirvin/faqs/spam.html. We filter binaries from
non-binary groups, and filter HTML from all newsgroups except the
microsoft.* hierarchy and local groups.
We are not responsible for the content in any of the newsgroups. Like all
content on the Internet, some newsgroups may not be suitable for all users.
Each user and/or primary account holder should keep this in mind when
accessing the newsgroups. There is commercial software available at most
computer retailers that can provide "filtering" (screening out newsgroups or
content which may be objectionable).
Terms of Service Actions
Upon receiving a complaint from another customer, newsgroup facilitator or
another third party, Road Runner will promptly investigate the issue in
question and determine the appropriate action, if any. All involved parties
will be notified of the decision, action, and rationale. Examples of
potential actions follow:
a.. Most valid complaints will generally result in the offending
article(s) being cancelled and the Road Runner member receiving a Terms of
Service warning. Additionally, your access to newsgroups may be restricted
depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
b.. Second instances of abuse will generally result in your account being
restricted from newsgroups access. Second instances of commercial abuse of
newsgroups or of spamming/chain letters will result in your termination from
Road Runner.
c.. Third instances, any combination of abuse, or particularly serious
offenses will generally result in your termination from Road Runner.
Road Runner seeks to create and foster an on-line community that can
be used and enjoyed by all its members. To further that goal, Road Runner
has developed an Acceptable Use Policy. Although much of what is included
here is common sense, Road Runner takes these issues very seriously and will
enforce its rules to ensure enjoyment by all of its members. Road Runner
therefore has reserved the right to remove any content posted to its system
that it deems offensive, inappropriate or violative of its policies. It also
reserves the right to suspend or cancel a subscriber's account for engaging
in inappropriate conduct. (Subscribers, of course, also remain legally
responsible for any such acts.) In using Road Runner, subscribers accept
this non-exhaustive list of restrictions as well as those set forth in the
Road Runner Cable Modem Service Subscription Agreement and agree to use Road
Runner only for lawful purposes and not to use or allow others to use Road
Runner in violation of the following guidelines:
a.. Unless you have specifically subscribed for commercial grade
service, the Road Runner service is provided to you for personal,
non-commercial use only. This service cannot be used for any enterprise
purpose whatsoever whether or not the enterprise is directed toward making a
profit. If it is your intention to use this service for these purposes,
please contact your local cable operator to inquire whether commercial Road
Runner service programs are available.
b.. The Road Runner service may not be used to engage in any conduct
that interferes with Road Runner's ability to provide service to others,
including the use of excessive bandwidth.
c.. The Road Runner service may not be used to breach or attempt to
breach the security, the computer, the software or the data of any person or
entity, including Road Runner, to circumvent the user authentication
features or security of any host, network or account, to use or distribute
tools designed to compromise security, or to interfere with another's use of
the Road Runner service through the posting or transmitting of a virus or
other harmful item or to deliberately overload or flood that entity's
system.
d.. In using the Road Runner service, you may not use an IP address
or client ID not assigned to you, forge any TCP/IP packet header or any part
of the header information in an e-mail or newsgroup posting or probe, scan
or test the vulnerability of any system or network by the use of sniffers,
SNMP tools or any other method.
e.. The Road Runner service may not be used to post or transmit
content that violates child pornography statutes or contains graphic visual
depictions of sexual acts or sexually explicit conduct involving children,
or other depictions of children, the primary appeal of which is prurient.
f.. The Road Runner service may not be used to upload, post,
transmit or otherwise make available any materials or content that violate
or infringe on the rights or dignity of others. These include, but are not
limited to, materials infringing or compromising intellectual property
rights or any party's ability to maintain trade secrets and other personal
information as private; hate speech; threats of physical violence; harassing
conduct; sexually oriented material that is offensive or inappropriate; and
unsolicited bulk e-mail.
g.. The Road Runner service may not be used to engage in or foster
any consumer fraud such as illegal gambling, "Make Money Fast" schemes,
chain letters, Pyramid, or other investment schemes, or to make or encourage
people to accept fraudulent offers of products, items or services,
originating from your account, or through a third party which implicates
your account or to post or transmit off-topic or commercial messages on
bulletin boards.
h.. You may not engage in any of the above activities using the
service of another Internet provider, while channeling such activities
through your Road Runner account or using this account as a mail drop for
responses.
